But while Kelly will find a more favorable recruiting landscape, how will a Massachusetts native who’s never coached south of Cincinnati fare going up against Alabama, Georgia, Clemson and others on the South's recruiting trail?

Nick Saban hadn't coached south of Toledo, Ohio and in his first year landed the #2 class in the country. We are talking LSU, not Nebraska or Wyoming. Quit being dumb.

the dude said yesterday he recruits and has success in Louisiana.

There are no more true journalists out there. It's just a mish mash of tweet snippets pasted together for clickbait.

The only coaches that could have satisfied the OPs standards would have been ryan day or dabo sweeney

Maybe we should have hired Watson Brown or Charlie Weatherbie?

how'd West Virginia native and Midwest guy named Nick Saban do at LSU and Alabama?

How'd Ohio native and Midwest guy Urban Meyer do at Utah and Florida.

This board is filled with idiots.

Does the “DP” in your handle stand for “Double Penetration”?

We can smell the fear DP. Nick Saban's career, and Alabama's football fortunes with it, are on the wane. LSU is on the way back up.

Alabama hit a great streak and has had a great run. But it will be ending soon.

When Saban goes it will be extremely difficult, if not impossible, for the next coach to sustain success and meet fan expectations. There will be lean years ahead for you.

And you can feel it inside.

Console yourself any way you can.

It’s an exiting time for Tiger Fans but if erroring on the side of caution and preferring to take the “prove it” route makes me an a-hole….. I guess I’m an a-hole.

I’m not exiting shite.

Have you seen the cock on that baw? I'd be scared of Brian Kelly at LSU if I were Clemson, Alabama, & Georgia. Not the other way around.

ND is 11-1 this season. LSU is 6-6 and would probably beat them straight up. ND is always going to lose to the big boys. Its not 1970 anymore.

You're quite welcome.

This "cultural fit" garbage pisses me off more than anything else. Louisiana people with loser mentalities perpetuate it rather than rightly bristling at it. There are unique things about this place but it isn't Saturn, for Chrissake.

And the lazy national media narrative that somehow a coach at LSU can't make it here if they're from somewhere else is just proof of how awful those people are at their jobs.

Now along comes some Gump retard to regurgitate it, as though Alabama's football culture hasn't historically been far more challenging to master than LSU's. It's unacceptable and infuriating.

When Saban finally hangs it up and his successor starts going 7-5, hopefully we can all pile on to the stupid narrative about how you have to be a "cultural fit" in Tuscaloosa among all the crazy fans they have there or you can't succeed.

No we wouldn't

ND beat 2 LSU teams in the last 8 years
They also hung with Georgia
And beat clemson - Clemson was missing some key players though

But could kick the shite out everyone in a spelling B! With out the academic hold back on ND, Kelly will run roughshot over the SEC.
