Again, I'm saying this as a college football fan in general, not just a Bama fan. Imagine a team that had to win a play in game and eventually won the NT? Not saying that would happen this year but like I said, the NCAA tournament does it.

Alabama, the fighting Mulligans.

Solutions are only needed when there are problems.

That stated, since Bama beats us most every time we play them I wouldn't be opposed to having another shot at them. But then, we'll get that shot next season at home in Athens.

Outside of Bama fans, there’s no real debate. You guys had a chance to claim a spot and pissed down your leg vs Oklahoma.

The extra spots were to give the smaller schools a shot and not to give the bigger schools do overs after 3 losses
This is 100% spot on.

I think it's great that schools like Boise St, Indiana, Arizona St and SMU are getting a legitimate chance to compete for a NC.

I think it is incredibly selfish for the fans of schools that have won NCs in the past to be angry that the system has been tweaked to allow teams that were not previously given the benefit of the doubt when it comes to having a chance to compete for an NC a chance to now do so.

And, for all of you that say that the expanded playoffs decrease the value of the regular season, I ask when was the last season that at least 20 teams had a legitimate shot at making the playoffs entering the month of November? Usually when November rolls around, there have been only about 6-8 teams at most with a shot at a NC.

I personally am quite happy for the fanbases of Boise St, Indiana, Arizona St and SMU who now get to enjoy a postseason of hope (whether realistic or not) of winning a NC.

The players are now being paid hundreds of thousands of dollars now.

An expanded playoff system is the least of college football's problems.

Stop crying already. Bama couldn’t get it done this year and doesn’t deserve a seat at the table. Better luck next year Gump

They would have had the smaller schools with 1 loss and Tennessee and OSU all fighting for the 6th spot.

If they don't do superconferences and divisions that play straight into the brackets then there will always be a fight. It will be a mini NFL playoff at the end of it with 32 or 48 teams tops.
