No. Arkansas is a great job, more financial support coming (not close to SMU I know), rabid fan base, and every place has its warts but there’s probably not many better places to live than NWA, outside of the transplant cuck soy boys. It’s beautiful

I take it you are unfamiliar with the geography of Dallas, TX.

The upside on SMU is much higher than Ark or Tech.

Dallas upside higher than Fayetteville or Lubbock, although that part of Ark is nice.

There’s much more visibility and respect in the SEC. The big12 and acc are afterthoughts. If you can win at Arkansas it means a hell of alot more than at the other two.

But if you’re looking for an easy gig then the other two are the much better choice.

Everyone who is in the big 4 is on TV every week. Respect from whom? Money changes things. SMU and TT are willing to spend more money than Arkansas. Do the players and coaches respect Arkansas more b/c they are in the SEC but they aren't paying like SMU and TT?

Arkansas isn’t stupid enough to pay an olineman 5 million bucks and I’m happy about that.

Since joining the SEC, Arkansas has been able to expand to other recruiting territories that wasn't possible in the SWC.

Who is the most hyped out of state player y'all have signed who delivered since y'all have been in the SEC? Ahmad Carroll?

Maybe Alex Collins? Big time 5 star out of Miami/Dade.

I counted 23 texas kids on our roster and kids were spread from Pennsylvania to California with Georgia, Florida, Louisiana and many states in between. We’ve got a player from Denmark, one from Canada and so on.

Texas isn’t the focus anymore and the best players are from the other SEC states. We just have a hard time outbidding other teams for them right now.

SMU had won eight SWC titles and multiple undefeated seasons from 1920 to 1950. Then something happened and they cycled down for awhile.

Arkansas during this time period had more losing seasons than the rest of the SWC members. Then they cycled up for awhile.

Drew Sanders is the latest one who we got from Bama.

But our program has had plenty of out of state players who developed well here, but we don’t get many 5 stars at all. But some of the 5 stars we have gotten didn’t pan out so there’s that..

I was curious and looked up the blue chippers that Petrino signed at Arkansas. Being in the SEC definitely helped them get some of the OOS guys.

De'Anthony Curtis (Camden, AR)
Tyler Wilson (Greenwood, AR)
Joe Adams (Maumelle, AR)
Jarius Wright (Warren, AR)
Jerico Nelson (Destrehan, LA)
Darius Winston (West Helena, AR)
Ronnie Wingo Jr (St Louis, MO)
Knile Davis (Missouri City, TX)
Colby Berna (Fayetteville, AR)
Calvin Barnett (Tulsa, OK)
Cam Feldt (Pilot Point, TX)
Byran Jones (Junction City, AR)
Brey Cook (Springdale, AR)
Micah Smothers (Springdale, AR)
Tevin Mitchel (Mansfield, TX)
Marquel Wade (New Berlin, NY)
Lonnie Gosha (Lake Butler, FL)
Quinta Funderburk (Chesapeake, VA)
Kelvin Fisher Jr (Gilbert, AZ)
Keante Minor (East St Louis, IL)
Andrew Peterson (Dallas, TX)

Yes Batman Carroll had the most hype but didn't deliver.

Former two star George Wilson from Kentucky during the same time period had zero hype but delivered and was a productive starter in the NFL.

And only 4 of those players from texas and he had some very good teams…..hmmmm

But there was a solid group of Arkansas kids, that’s when we’re most successful.

Wrong.

The SWC was a strong conference before the 80s.

Arkansas used to be a bottom feeder in the SWC before Frank Broyles.

SMU, TCU and Rice were national powers for a time.

Rice used to have one of the largest stadiums in the nation.
