A long, long time ago… I can still remember when Saban used to make me smile….
And I knew if he had his chance,
That he could make the Bammers dance
And maybe they’d be happy
For a while….
But January made me shiver….
With every touchdown IU delivered…
Mendoza on the doorstep
I couldn’t take one more step…
I can’t remember if I cried when I heard about the crimson tide…
Something touched me deep inside
The day…..alabama football …..died
And I knew if he had his chance,
That he could make the Bammers dance
And maybe they’d be happy
For a while….
But January made me shiver….
With every touchdown IU delivered…
Mendoza on the doorstep
I couldn’t take one more step…
I can’t remember if I cried when I heard about the crimson tide…
Something touched me deep inside
The day…..alabama football …..died

Saban always picks the Tide
Even against his better judgement
DeBoer blows harder than a leaf blower
The fans don't want to hear about his atonement
The fans and Saban will have to make their expectations lower
All because they're stuck with Kaitlyn DeBoer

All because they're stuck with Kaitlyn DeBoer

How am I supposed to do anything without “To the tune of…”?
Not exactly a bunch of Beefovens here, bro.

I appreciate your decent attention to meter and your effort.
Let me assist,
Well Bye...Tide, tears would roll as gumps cried,
Kalen said he had 'em ready, but the Hoosiers denied,
And all them Corn-fed boys, gave them quite the surprise,
As their playoff dreams just curled up and died,
Only tears would roll down cheeks with their pride...

Seriously? It's quite obviously to the tune of American Pie by Don McLean. A classic

I don't know what you were trying to do here, and though I applaud the effort, kind of missed the landing

I'm not sure either. That always makes it interesting when I hit submit.

I felt the same about yours, so I guess we are kinda even.

Mea culpa.
I’m multitasking with some Power Automate flows and not digging in here like I should.
Just goes to show the value of committing to your purpose.
I’ll shut down the work crap.

I met the REC at Dreamland BBQ
And I asked them for some happy news
They just said Roll Tide and turned away
I went down to the dollar store
Where I’d bought the t-shirts years before
But the script A was now just Atlanta Braves
And on the Rant the Barners screamed
The Bammers cried and the Corndogs dreamed
But deep down they weren’t joking
The dynasty was broken
And the two men I admire most
Paul the Bear and Nick the GOAT
Were long dead and a Gameday host
The day the Crimson died
And I asked them for some happy news
They just said Roll Tide and turned away
I went down to the dollar store
Where I’d bought the t-shirts years before
But the script A was now just Atlanta Braves
And on the Rant the Barners screamed

Any attempt at remaking this song needs to pay homage to the original. It's one of the greatest songs ever written.
We started singin', bye-bye, Roll Tide, say goodbye
We used to fear the Crimson Tide, now they barely get by
Them good ole' boys are drinkin' whiskey and rye
Singin' this will be the day that we die
This will be the day that we die
We started singin', bye-bye, Roll Tide, say goodbye
We used to fear the Crimson Tide, now they barely get by
Them good ole' boys are drinkin' whiskey and rye
Singin' this will be the day that we die
This will be the day that we die
