So with talk of possibly moving FB to spring, what happens to baseball?

Is this one of those deals that they hope fans spend a weekend and have FB played at nights on Saturdays and move baseball games up to like 2PM so people can get to see both? Or is spring FB still going to only allow like 20% capacity along with baseball.

Any smart AD would sacrifice baseball for football. Except for a select few programs, baseball doesn't make any money.

At the end of the day, football is king and controls every other sport.

I agree except baseball in the Sec does make money.

There’s like maybe 3 programs that make money off baseball, and it doesn’t come anywhere close to the revenue from football.

ETA: also to answer your question... why not both??

That’s what I’m screaming. Even if you have to limit capacity, it’s time to get sports back.

ETA: I know damn well MSU, Ole Miss, LSU, A&M, (Probably Auburn now), South Carolina for sure make money off baseball. Fans of other programs can chime in on their fannies in seats on weekends.

But I’d rather see both played even if it doesn’t make a nice profit because coaches are still getting paid.

If Football were moved to the Spring and Baseball would be cancelled for the second year in a row, it would be devastating to a number of programs

Shorten season, depending on how long FB season is

Also, forget just tickets, the concession stands make a killing. No many restaurants have that food cost.

The Hogs did something else last year that’s also rather exclusive in NCAA Division I baseball— turn a profit.

The only conflict I could see with playing football in the spring is parking. I'm not sure about everyone else's setup but we have a ton of football parking in our Baum-Walker (and adjacent) parking lots. This would create a crunch - unless of course they limited capacity. With that being said - most football schedules only have 6 home games so that would only be a problem for 6 Saturdays - some of which the baseball team will be on a road trip.

All baseball during day and all football games kick off at 9pm.

Maybe 1% of what football makes. Baseball pays for itself. Football pays for the entire athletic department

I’m not comparing baseball money to football but when you add in everything like tickets, concession revenues, 50 + games, rent on sky boxes etc etc, baseball sells of merchandise etc, it does make money, at least in the SEC.

Maybe not all schools but at least half in the conf do.

Why can't they all play at the same time?

Make trip out of it. A Thurs night shooty hoops game, Fri night baseball, Saturday football, and a Sat night and Sunday baseball game.

And you literally had a college professor along with a campus of SJW’s acting a fool and gave the rest of us material to mock you and make fun of your stupid University free of charge. And thank you for over a years worth of comedy.
