They wanted to play the game as scheduled, because they knew they would have the bigger advantage this time of year with our injuries.... plus our players thinking about their families back home dealing with the hurricane. Almost an automatic W when you think about it for LSU, but with it pushed back, it'll be a lot more competitive.

So you're admitting you don't think you should have to play when guys are injured? Maybe you haven't noticed but our best player and two OL would have been out. LSU traveled to Arizona at the last minute and won. shite happens

We had to play UT on a Monday in 2005 with Hurricane Rita in the Gulf about to smoke Lake Charles, a place where our players had families. This excuse doesn't make any sense.

I still don't understand the excuse about their families back home. If this was a scheduled away game the UForfeit personnel would have still been away from their family.

Then why is your AD not willing to play Florida now? Doesn't seem to matter when the date will be, he's saying no.

Because he's not going to just do it at a time that is the best option for Florida. He has to look out for his own school. The two sides need to get together and act like adults to find a date and time that can work for both schools.

I agree with you on the players mindset nit being right because if the hurricane.

Your injury comments are stupid though. Injuries are part of the game. That has nothing to do with someone wanting to play a game as scheduled.

Sounds like you think game should have been cancelled because your team had so many injuries instead of the storm.

You all need to stop being pussies and get your AD to just agree to play the game.

He tried for almost a week. Now you mother frickers want to act like we're the ones ducking the game when there's a 80% chance it won't get played at all.

If you go look at my post history on the subject, my gut was the game would have been last night... pure and simple. I am simply looking at this retrospectively at how the ADs dealt with it then, and then how they are dealing with it now. I did not want the game to be canceled, but, with it being postponed, it's simple to see the benefit of it. That's all.

What I like most about it is McElwain being a caviler a-hole on the teleconference last Wednesday joking about the hurricane and how it wasn't that big of a deal.

I think it's obvious why LSU wanted the game in Baton Rouge -- another home game, home field advantage, etc.

That is pretty obvious...even more obvious...there was a Hurricane in Florida, there wasn't one in Louisiana.

Finally!!!!!! An honest gator fan that admits the game was postponed because UF felt it was "almost an automatic L".

I don't like that they weaseled out of it, but I have much respect for the fact that you owned up it was done to avoid the probable loss....

I am not an LSU fan, but they are respectable and all about the sport. I understand Florida not wanting to commit to play on Saturday, but there were options on the table. You should have to play the schedule you are dealt and Florida was just being a little too childlike in their refusal to negotiate. If anything, now it should be held in a neutral spot so that Florida does not gain any benefit from the newly scheduled game, and LSU does not suffer from the disadvantage. Florida is lucky I am not the Commissioner.

My concern is not how the AD's dealt with it. The AD's jobs are to work in the best interest of their teams

It is the Commissioner's job to make it work with the least burden on everyone involved (not just the 2 teams). That would be a contingency for Sunday and Monday. And I think this should be something written directly into the rules when you are dealing with several teams on the gulf coast and atlantic coast that deal with severe tropical weather regularly

It is simple to see the benefit to UF correct

But it's ok for your AD to dodge the game now that Florida is looking at a probable win? Hypocrisy at its finest right there.

That is the only thing that kind of pissed me off.

McElwain gets upset at the notion of Florida being scared to play LSU, but says last week that we can play in the indoor facility if we need to? Guy has completely changed his tone on this thing.

Its absolutely not.

We wanted to play last week, you said no.

Now you want to play, and we are saying no.

Its not hypocrisy at all.
