Wasn't VOLS. Butch aimed for a home run hire and got one in Bob Shoop.

I'm sure LSU gave him a call. He knows what he's doing-certainly more than Steele. Needless to say I'm more than happy with LSU's new hire

Wasn't Auburn either. They aimed for a grand slam hire and got one in Steele.

Probably Auburn.

Smart and Saban wouldn't want a DC that isn't familiar with their scheme.

Wasn't Georgia either. They're only interested in coaches and players familiar with Bama scheme.

Hiring a DC from a proven conference competitor isn't in the Houston Nutt playbook that Gus is a disciple of.

You gotta either go get a failed guy from a name spot, hire one of your boys, or grab a buddy that's selling insurance but was nearly a legend at the school you're coaching at.

Neither is hiring a guy who let our shitty offense take him to 4 OT. If Auburn was thinking of hiring him, that game was a pretty crappy audition.

Meh, y'all scored 24 in regulation. Not great by any means but not terrible either. Especially when we were replacing three NFL players in the front seven.

Not us. We're set on defense. We just need to hire a guy who knows how to move in the other direction. Or, at the very least, explain to our coaching staff that there is a second direction in which we're expected to move.
