Ole Miss could've said screw you, prove it. SEC schools have gone that path before.

Billy, OleMiss offered up some of their own punishment probably to try to mitigate some of the sanctions that will be dished out by the NCAA.

But y'all had coaches in cahoots with over a dozen Boosters. Apparently there are records of tons of interactions between your staffers and Boosters.

The NCAA has always held strict policies on interaction of any kind between Boosters & players/recruits and it is flat out off limits under any circumstances.

Ole Miss went way over the top because the core of your Athletic Department (Farrar) and coaching staff (Freeze) were orchestrating the Boosters, communicating with them, and even allowed them to be present during recruiting visits. Did Freeze host a breakfast in his home with a Booster in attendance?

Now, OM folks will claim the FCA director from Memphis shouldn't be labeled a Booster. But all Freeze had to do was get him vetted through Compliance. Get the ok from the NCAA before you let him provide transportation, lodging, meals, clothing, let him sit in on recruiting visits.

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

If they get 45 over 5, plus two year ban, it'll be 6-7 years before they are bowl eligible again. That's a devastating penalty.

The effect of penalties like that won't be felt in full until year 4-5 of the sanctions. It would take another 3-4 years to build back up and that's only if you hire a recruiting machine that can pull in the talent level Freeze did but without the inducements.

45 over 5 is as good as a death penalty. Scollies going down until in year 5 you have only 40 on scholarship. That is the shits. Good luck finding a coach worth a poot.

And a 2 year bowl ban will get another 10-15 off the team.

To answer the OP, its going to depend.

There is a scheduled meeting with the Committee on Infractions; if Ole Miss continues to fight on nonsensical grounds, its entirely possible yet another Notice of Allegations might well be forthcoming-- which would mean final punishment of OM may not be for another two years.

If this is the final round of allegations, then OM is looking at being punished sometime in November-- but I would expect the NCAA to remain in Oxford up to their elbows for another year or more at minimum.

Your Ole Miss obsession is tremendous btw, I salute you

You act like these were all self reported.
They got caught then decided to cooperate with the violations already known while they tried to hide everything else.
