Athens is a better town but the Alabama facilities, campus, Stadium, etc. Is much better, much more modern and now much more of a destination University than UGA and it's not even close.

Bama will choose Florida's coach, Dan Miflin

I don't know how long it has been since you have been on the UGA campus, but your statement makes me wonder if you have ever been there. In the last decade massive building and restoration has and is taking place. Not only athletic facilities but the academic and residence halls too. $63 million is currently being plowed into stadium updates to ADD to an ongoing upgrade of one of the most beautiful and historic stadiums in the country. New recruiting facilities, new plazas and gates, new state of the art locker room etc. will be ready for the upcoming season. Probably the best indoor facility in the country - better late than never, but worth the wait. The acknowledged best college tennis complex in the nation, baseball park has undergone a very expensive and complete renovation and the basketball complex is now dropdead gorgeous after a renovation. Beautiful women's soccer and softball facilities. Georgia has lot of money and they have been spending it like a drunken sailor. I've been to Bama and I've seen nothing that compares to Ga. I even prefer AUs stadium to yours. Their stadium IS beautiful. Kind of like a rose growing in a trash heap of a town.

I think UGA has better campus by far and Alabama doesn't look more modern. lol

I would have never thought in 2008 when Clemson made the WRs coach the head coach that a decade later Bama fan would be begging Dabo on their knees to come keep their program afloat when Saban retires.
lol
It seems like most Bama fans would crawl through glass to get Dabo. They know they are in for some dark times if they don't get a proven coach.
Bama isn't like Clemson where a no name WR's coach can win a natty. lol

I'm pointing out your coach was on ESPN begging for the last spot in the playoffs, and his position contradicted what he has said in previous seasons about importance of conference titles.
Wasn't begging and didn't contradict. The meme that was floating around doesn't mean it was really what he said, or even in context. Also, the committee told us conference championships didn't matter when they took OSU instead of the conference champion from their own conference who BEAT OSU head to head. They changed the narrative, not Saban.

Ohio State beating an undefeated Wisconsin in an extra game negates the Iowa loss, in my view. Their other loss was to Oklahoma, who is a playoff team.
Nothing can negate losing by 31 points to an unranked team. And their other loss was also by 15. The largest margin of defeat of any playoff team in the 4 year history is 14 points (by 2014 OSU). This year's OSU team lost 2 games by larger margins than that.

Bama fans are not begging for anything. Bama will always be Bama, I am not worried about the future. We will get a great coach when Saban retires. We are still on top of the CFB world. I am 53 years old, and I am confident that even if I live to 100 that the day I go see the pearly gates, Bama will still be the number one program historically in the SEC and most likely Nationally. It will be an adjustment without Saban but Bama won 21 SEC titles before Saban ever got there. I expect that kind of trend to continue!!

I think both men are smarter than to follow Nick Saban. They will let some fool go first.

Begging? Keep afloat? Come on man. If Bama is able to bring Dabo home, fantastic. If he decides that comfort where he is means more than coaching at his alma mater, that's ok too. I think we all know Bama will open up the checkbook and will lure a very good hire to come coach the team when Saban retires.

I hope it isn't any time soon, but when the time comes, hopefully in about 4 years, it's going to be fun watching your response when Dabo tells Clemson how much he loves and appreciate them, but that Bama is home and it's his dream and he's taking the job.

Bama has had 5 different coaches win a national title. Clemson has had two and both were Bama guys.

I live less than 40 minutes from Athens and I am there at least monthly, and I could not disagree more, but that is what opinions are for. I have even had many of my UGA friends say that one thing they like about UGA are some of the older buildings on campus. I believe the entrance to Bryant Denny with all the statues, etc. is very cool.

Neither would have been given head coach jobs at Bama prior to their success at Clemson.
Dabo was at Clemson 7 years prior to be given the head coach job. Not sure how he was a Bama guy. lol
Ford was assistant under a coach that bolted for Florida I believe.
Ford still lives in Clemson despite being forced out by the university in a contentious way in 1989.
It is cool if Dabo leaves for Bama. I don't see that because it is a lateral move at best, but the main ingredient for success at Clemson is for CLemson to have a school president and adminstration that supports football.
It was a anti-football president that tanked the program in the 1990s starting with pushing Ford out.

Kiffin would be the only coach on the planet to not feel intimidated to be immediately taking over for Nick, he would relish in it. Hope it happens eventually, would be fun to watch.

well no shite. Clemson is a program that isn't on par with Bama historically.

You're not sure? Well let me help you. he grew up 40 miles from tuscaloosa and is a lifelong Bama fan. He and his wife both graduated from Bama. He played at Bama. He got his start in coaching at Bama. He learned how to win at Bama, where he got his first national championship ring. After Clemson lost to Syracuse, it was Bama that he returned to the next day to celebrate the 25th anniversary of that championship with his former coach and teammates.

So you think going to his alma mater and making $10M per year at the school with 7x more national national titles than Clemson, 160+ all time wins more than Clemson, 16 more bowl wins, 2 more heisman trophy winners, 40 more All Americans, etc is a "lateral move at best"?
Ok. I can't really take you seriously. Clemson has done great under Dabo, but by any measure, Bama is a better program than Clemson. The only people who don't see that are Clemson fans.

Talking about Heisman trophies is dumb. CLemson has put a lot of great players in NFL that didn't win the Heisman. Lamar Jackson won the Heisman last year but Lville has never done much in football.
Dabo was given his highest paying coaching jobs at Clemson including head coach despite no HC or coordinator experience. Why would he be more loyal to Alabama?
He's made the playoffs 3 out of the first 4 years at Clemson. He has as good or better facilities at Clemson, and a better location geographically in my view.
Talking about titles that Bama won across time doesn't have any relevance to today's sport.
Clemson was a small military school until the 1950s. It isn't logical to say how Clemson fared in football a long time ago is predictive of the future of Clemson football because it is a different school now.
The city also has a lot more now than it had back in the day.
If Alabama is a better situation as you claim, then why do Alabama fans always talk about their next coach and act like they got to get a big name coach to keep winning?
Just give the job to Saban's WR coach and Bama should be fine. lol

Never hurts to look ahead. We've also won with just about every coach we've ever hired, doesn't mean we have to settle for whatever coach has an office down the hall.
