I’m not sure how this is a factor. If being an SAE had anything to do with it why wouldn’t he want to be at Bama considering that’s where it was founded?

If Dabo stays another few years wins another natty don’t count on it. They will match any offer

Dabo is a natural, but whomever takes the job after Saban is gonna have a hard time. Following a legend is nearly impossible. Dabo is building his own legend at Clemson. Joey Freshwater might be a good choice after Saban just because he is so different. I dont see that candle burning a real long time in T-town though just because of all the pressure that goes with Bama. Kiffin may be in a perfect place at FAU. They love him. They are paying him. He's free to be a knucklehead and win games and he's in Boca. Boca beats the SHITE out of anything north of Gulf Shores.

I don't think that anyone good would be dumb enough to follow Saban.
Earle Bruce, Gary Gibbs, Gary Moeller, Ray Perkins, and Frank Solich...how many of those names do you recognize? Maybe a couple at most. They were the immediate successors to Woody Hayes, Bo Schembechler, Barry Switzer, Bear Bryant, and Tom Osborne, none of them lasted long.
Saban's succesor has 3-4 years and then he's gone. The Gumps won't find another coach they're comfortable with until 10-12 years have passed.

What has Kirby done exactly? He won the east that was shite sorry, and one good recruiting year full of in state talent. Until he’s consistently winning the east or in the playoffs almost every year everyone should slow their role. With that said if he continues to produce or even be above avg then he should be talked up. Dabo in other hand has wonAcc 3 years in a row and in 3rd playoffs in a row.

I want to know how he departs. Is he going to lose 4 games and realize he's too old like Bryant? Is he going to have several disappointing years and be forced out like Bowden? Is he going to take an NFL job like Carroll?
It's going to happen. Hopefully soon!

Tom Osborned followed a legend. Jimmy Johnson followed Howard Schellenberger, Urban Meyer came after Jim Tressel. The next Bama hc isn't even on the radar yet.

Remember the youtube video of the OU kid singing that racist chant that got he and his brothers expelled and their chapter closed?

He did more than win the East. He won the fricking conference. And made the playoffs in his second year. He's also on pace to pull in the number one recruiting class in the country. Dial down the butt hurt.

Kirby don't want no Bama. He's building something better. At a school that means something.

Neither of those guys will take the Bama Job. Something would have to drastically collapse at Clemson.

This get thrown around a lot but in this case it’s absolutely true
The dude is coaching at his Alma mater which is also a P5 big time school with a frick ton of money to pay him whatever so long as he can deliver. Athens is also pretty fricking cool.

Bama just needs to hire the next up and coming assistant coach. A dc that makes the offensive-minded hc look good or vice-versa ala Joe Moorehead at Penn St. That's assuming PJ Fleck doesn't want to come down south.

Building something better? Might want to wait before you make that claim.
At a school that means something?
As opposed to Alabama?
I think the next Alabama coach is probably someone no one is even thinking about right now. But Smart would probably at least talk to Alabama.

If Kirby's agent is Jimmy Sexton then UGA can expect to increase his salary for years to come.

LOL
Exactly what I was thinking.
Not just for his paycheck, but probably for his staff as well.
I hope the GA administration will let him keep at this, I know in the past they were not exactly supportive of really building a top notch program.
Also, and this applies to almost every team, getting the recruits is great. But managing all those egos is also no easy task, so I am curious to watch how well it goes on that front next year.

Ehh he is pretty young. NFL could eventually call and him go. Most coaches have a shelf life at one school. Very few are 10+ year guys and to assume it at year two is a bit...too soon to say the least.
