Ole Miss is the only SEC team to lose to Kentucky.

The only SEC teams to lose to Vandy and OU were Auburn and Alabama!

ETA: actually Vandy beat Kentucky too.

Again Kentucky. It may suck for you but this was the correct seeding to date.

Remember before the season when everyone here was ridiculing Ole Miss for how soft their schedule was?

This is what happens when you have a soft schedule and end up with the same record as someone with a tougher schedule.

You just admitted that Bama didn’t earn it.

Both teams "marquee" Power 4 non-conference games finished 15th in their conference... OM and Bama played basically the same non-conference schedule.

Alabama’s SoS is 17. Ole Miss’ SoS is 31.

Something was different.

The conference schedule. Not the non-conference games.

Well I think that’s the point with a 12 team playoff in a sport with 130 eligible teams. Anyone outside of the sec or big ten championship never really earns it. They have ton pick 12 teams so anyone past 5/6 didn’t earn anything.

Which is why in 2026 the SEC and Big 10 are going to blow it up and go to a playoff just between themselves

Honestly they need to invite a few other teams but they just need to become a developmental league for the NFL but there has to be an NFl business model in place. Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi can not compete NIL wise.

Ole Miss beat 2 of those 4 (UGA and SCAR) but lost to the 2nd to last place team in the league at home 1-7 in the SEC and 4-8 overall (UK). 3 of 5 Ole Miss wns were UK,

You’ve got Ole Miss both winning and losing against Kentucky. The other Ole Miss SEC win was Arkansas

Honestly other than beating Bama Vandy didn’t beat anyone off account. If they are better than Kentucky it ain’t by much. And I say that as probably the biggest vandy fan on this board.

Non-conference games.

Ole Miss

Furman - FCS unranked 3-8
Middle Tennessee #129 3-9
Wake Forest #88 4-8
Georgia Southern #75 8-4

Alabama

Mercer - FCS #9 10-2
WKU #93 8-4
USF #82 6-6
Wisconsin #48 5-7

Average FPI of opponents and combined record of opponents.

Alabama: #74; 29 - 19
Ole Miss: #97; 18 - 29

Combined records of Alabama and Ole Miss SEC opponents (overall and conference).

Alabama: 63 - 33; 34 - 30

Ole Miss: 52 - 44; 26 - 38

So, Alabama had a slightly tougher out of conference schedule. And Alabama had a slightly tougher conference schedule.

Alabama and Ole Miss had the same record.

So Alabama is ahead of Ole Miss. It is rather intuitive.
