That Alabama absolutely didn’t belong in the playoff.

Let AI/BCS control the rankings and have them put in absolute best teams in. 12 is too much. Maybe top 8 or 6 at the most? Yesterday was a complete waste of everyone’s time.

Alabama fans still bring up that ND lost to Northern Illinois.

My issue with ND is their lack of SOS and not playing in a conference. They basically are giving a bye each year especially with the 12-team playoff now. ND is basically an automatic qualifier by default currently.

Honestly? It was very strange how uneven Alabama was this year. Saban might have an upset here and there, but never 2-3 upsets. Alabama was just an inconsistent team.....as was Georgia.

Most Alabama fans expected UA to drop at least two games. Not the ones we did but 10-2 was the hope for the season. The roster was left with talent for the new staff, but it was already a mess with Saban last year. Posters like to chime in on the loaded roster but that does not always equate to the product on the field positively. Saban left for a reason.

I was not unhappy we did not make the playoffs. Yes, how they decided who got in is too subjective but in all honestly depending on QB play we could have ended up like UT which would not make our situation any better.

Two things for Alabama fans to focus on. Give the new staff time to build their roster and to stop comparing everything with what Saban did. He was the GOAT and will never be matched.

I agree 100%.

I saw some even say 3 losses was possible. I thought most Alabama fans were very reasonable entering the season. Not sure if they really meant it, though.

Spot on with all 3.

On a serious note, picking teams the way this format is set up is stupid. Going back to point 1, when you put human beings in charge you get their bias as well.

BCS rankings if you just take the top 12 (which I don’t hate if you actually take the best teams). I disagree that South Carolina should be in the 12 slot, but that’s my bias. BCS has them at 14

5 - Ohio State
12 - SMU
4 - Texas

Ohio State still has a blowout win, better 4/5 matchup

6 - Penn State
11 - Bama
3 - Notre Dame

7 - The Stinking Vols
10 - Arizona State
2 - Georgia

8 - Indiana
9 - Boise State
1 - Oregon

Better looking brackets all around. I think 8/9 matchup is weak, but the #1 seed should get the best draw.

Most felt 2 losses but 3 as a possibility. The thought or hope was we would drop a game to UGA and split games with UT and LSU finishing 10-2. That would put us in the running for the playoffs and possibly the SECCG.

After beating UGA early in the season many got their hopes up. Understandably as we saw the potential of this team but then the frustration with the Vandy & OU games became a mental roller coaster for the fan base.

In the end most fans are resigned to the fact the team had a lot of issues that the staff inherited and hopefully going forward the roster can be revamped to get us to where we want to be. But the days of dominating opponents are gone now with NIL and the portal. No room for error anymore as we learned this season.

- Tennessee fans I know talked a lot of shite they couldn’t back up.
- SOS has relevancy in team selection
- First round home game hosts are unbeatable
- 1-12 should be seated based upon strength and not by automatic conference champion first game byes.
- Boise and ASU should have been playing yesterday.
- All blowouts for first round games is not good for long term viewership

Can’t emphasize that one enough. Guarantee that changes next year

For years bowl games mostly in warmer weather. Now, Southern teams may have to go to cold weather.
