It is not silly, just unfortunate a team chose to manipulate a rule designed one way to benefit them in a way the rule did not intend.

I mean... pinch runners and trips to the mound are pretty S.O.P. in late innings where you're on your heels.

You think Mike White should've thought to himself, "I need a speedster on base here but I don't want to make it seem like I'm stalling until the drop dead time?"

I get your perspective. Kentucky was robbed. But White did his job.

Really?

More like the lottery

FICA takes a wet bite out of your backside for 40 - 60 years.

If you win the lottery (you live past retirement) you get to get that back

If you live really long you get to drain those sill working

win - win in my book (if you are still alive, and not taking the dirt nap)

It is like being old and male where the ratio of men to women makes you Brad Pitt to your female peers. I could be banging your granny right now.

BREAKING: people associated with Texas smarter than people associated with Kentucky

Sorry y’all weren’t prepared enough to know the rules. But it’s hilarious how you’re crying over the 4th softball game of the year

The NCAA needs to force a rule change. When UNC benefited from their own penalty and was able to 'win' a game they had 'lost' because of a penalty they had committed, the NCAA acted swiftly and created the run off rule among other things. That was football and everyone could see that the rule that had allowed them to do it at the time was well and truly fricked.

Softball doesn't get nearly the attention that football does but this is even worse in a lot of ways. UNC benefited from something that shouldn't have been the way it was but it was an unforeseen consequence not an intentional manipulation of the rules. In the case of Texas' softball team, it's flat out shitty behavior and absolutely intentional.

It's the definition of unsportsmanlike conduct.

They can change the rules and have done so before when teams have done stuff like this. What does you being Texas have to do with a damn thing?

How can you possibly know this? Did he admit to it after the game? Should he not have done his job because it was close to the drop dead time?

Why does anyone schedule a game that even comes close to the drop dead time to begin with? Was it a deal where prior games ran over or did it start on time?

They at should at the least let the current batter finish.

If tx stalled with the intent to tie thats bush league stuff

Rain delay with multiple games cancelled over the weekend. Game started late. Both are ranked in the Top 25, so it was a big matchup as well.

Texas knew it was getting close to the count clock in the 7th. Went to the 8th, tied 4-4. Kentucky went up 7-4 T8 and then Texas stalled several times in the B8 to run out the clock. It was very intentional.
