He recruited Marcus, Gilmore, Shaw, and others. Would probably keep Shaw on. Wants to be here.

I’m down. Him or Napier.

IT CANT BE WORSE THAN CHAMP

Chadwell is still in play as well. He’s my top option and will be because of how unique his system is.

Considering Jeff Monken was a serious candidate, yes

I could talk myself into it. I tried talking myself into Muschamp too though.

When he was here he recruited well. If he is willing to just focus on that and the overall culture and personnel management, it could work. Just depends on whether his ability to identify football talent also translates to hiring assistants and coordinators.

If it was up to me, however, we would hire Chadwell.

Emulating Missouri like that would be a good way to start to steer your guys' program.

Yikes talk about aiming low. I was right. Tanner needs to go. He should not be allowed to make this hire. Should have been:
1. Freeze;
2. Napier;
3. Chadwell;
4. Sean Elliot.

No Beamer.

Beamer does appear to be the front runner. I am good with him, although my dream team would be for Chadwell to become OC.

It’s a step down in title, but a step up in money and program size. And if he can make it work for 2-3 years, then he’s in the driver’s seat for a top P5 gig.

Hopefully SC can hire a great fit and get them competitive again. The hire has to be someone that can do more with less and those folks aren't that plentiful.

I actually hope UofSC gets a good HC and puts a good team together. It's not because I have any love for them but for the health of the State, the SEC and ACC and the rivalries it's better when the teams are all good.

I actually think SC has a better chance of being better quicker than FSU and I never thought I would say that.

I can't believe they'd choose him over Napier or Chadwell. Beamer has never even been a coordinator. He's basically a glorified TE coach. I would be none to happy with that hire if I was a Cocks fan.

Our dumpster fire of a program is seriously considering hiring a guy whose own father didn't make him a coordinator. But he's going to lead us to the promised land because Stephen Garcia and Marcus Lattimore say so? This football program doesn't deserve its fans.

I know of a Head Coach that was only a position coach that was never a coordinator that did pretty good as a head coach. Word has it that he beat Bama a few times for the natty

Well the big difference there is that the Clemson AD and the AD staff knew what they had in Dabo. They had the advantage of seeing him personally over the course of a few years.

If USCe wants to take that risk, all the power to them. But to say it's not a huge risk to hire someone who hasn't even been a coordinator is foolish.

I know what you are saying, but UofSC is not in a position to be as choosey as some school and will have to stretch a little. Being the father of Frank Beamer gives him a little more unique insight to the demands of being a Head Coach which may be helpful.
