You're right. There is no alleged wrongdoing in the recruiting process and subsequent ineligibility of any of Auburn's current football players. The "if they play dirty it totally justifies us playing dirty" sentiment that you and other Auburn fans seem to be sharing right now is fricking dumb. Even so, you also seem to be forgetting that this wasn't Fairley's first game with a questionable hit or two, and that he got one or two of them in before the attempted chop block.

Fairley wasn't flagged until the 3rd quarter...the chop block on him was in the 2nd.
Fairley's hit in the back on Murray was dirty, and flagged.
I'll ask you again...what allegations have been made with regard to Auburn doing anything wrong in the recruiting of Cam Newton...and what bammers say don't count.

That may have been the play that was flagged, but it wasn't Fairley's first dirty play of the day. The fact that Cecil Newton was shopping his son around, and has admitted to as much, should bother you. They are allegations regarding a player that plays at Auburn, and even though Auburn isn't directly implicated yet, doesn't mean we won't be. Three scenarios come out of that confession, in my mind. Auburn knew he wanted money and paid him, Auburn knew he was shopped around, would possibly have eligibility issues and decided to gamble an entire season, or Auburn didn't know (we're lazy/dumb). In any case, I can totally see how other schools would hate us now, especially after seeing how our fans have reacted.

I don't remember the hate when Florida and Bama were undefeated and winning National Championships.....but then again maybe it’s because they were doing it legitimately.
