All joking aside, what does this really mean for LSU and the future of the program?

I agree, could happen to any us. Shame the poor will be hurt tremendously & the future of the state is hindered by the damage to a great university which serves it state well. Yet, Jindal is still held in such high regard nationally.

Nothing for the program. I think it's just posturing. And the athletic department gets no money from the state. The athletic department actually gives some money to the university.

Good thing they can't melt down the Golden Boot, 17-0

I remember being in school in Alabama during proration, and we had schools close way early and open very late in the year.
Not good times. Hopefully Louisiana can avoid such a situation. Sadly, it is also happening in Kansas right now.

Pretty awful deal for Louisiana. In a way, its nice to have this example to point to if our new GOP governor gets out of hand.

I honestly don't think Jindal would win Louisiana in a national election.

I bet you and half the posters in this thread didn't even go to LSU so why do you care about this? you just care about the football team

O-fer against LSU in SEC says what?

Attended LSU two of my 4 years
But if this was a criteria we'd have much less posters on here, from all fanbases.

I hope y'all make it. No joke.

The SEC as a whole shouldn't want to lose any powerhouse schools in the conference.
It would just weaken the conference as a whole and lose its appeal.
I could see where schools like Arkansas, Vanderbilt, Missouri and aTm would like this.
