Would that old geezer have done a better job for Auburn than Harsin?

When Steele had his DL he schemed against these spread teams as well as anyone in the SEC, and I said so, many times, in real-time. He went into Baton Rouge in 2019 and scared the hell out of LSU with a freshman QB. That hybrid 3-1-7 look was a thing of beauty. His teams were always physical and smart and that made them a tough out, especially on the plains.

I think Will Anderson would be a more well-rounded player right now if he were under Steele instead of PG. And I think Terrion Arnold wouldn't have been able to be exploited by the same route repeatedly in multiple games lol. I'm sure I will have gripes this year but he should fix a lot of things that ailed us.

Same guy that made that goofy thread about Alabama not being able to recruit anymore? Only for Saban to haul in another #1 class.
THAT was an Irons Puppet original. He swears Saban will never be able to recruit with NIL and Bama will struggle mightily in the new cfb landscape.

I hated the idea (much like most Auburn fans), but I'm certain he'd have done a better job than Harsin did in his year and a half.

So much that went wrong under Golding hasn't ever been the issue under Steele. Our ILBers and the middle of our defense have been pure chaos at times. Fundamentals and communications have been at the heart of why BAMA has been a step behind, at times, against these elite offenses.

That will change.

That same Ron Roberts whose coaching tree produced Aranda, Leonhard, and Golding, to name a few?

Seems Saban likes to pluck from the Ron Roberts defensive coaching tree.

Maybe he can teach, but his coaching isn’t stellar. Although he was good as a HS coach

Maybe don't use 1 pass rusher Pete as an example.

you probably should have hired him as HC

Also you should thank him, he was the only thing that kept you relevant or dangerous at all, but not even he could overcome the shite show of bo pix turning the ball over every possession

Steele bailed out Gus' offenses for years.

I'm not excited about Steele as DC, but I 100% expect to see major improvement with ILB's, fundamentals and overall communication on defense. His guys will know their assignments and they will play ball rather than look like they're a step behind reacting.

Bo Nix didn't really commit that many turnovers.

LSU still put up 500+ yards on AU that game.

And a player of that caliber who allowed that defense, Derrick Brown, only comes around once every several years.

He shows up in Tuscaloosa a lot more than anywhere else.

Not when you’re recruiting against Hugh Freeze.

Good example: we just beat out Clemson for their #1 QB target in 2024. That’s a program that’s landed their #1 target nearly every other year going back to Taj Boyd.

Game has changed since he was at Ole Miss. We'll still out-recruit you by a huge margin every year.

Prostitution is still illegal though, so he's got an edge there.
