and this is different from any other larger stadium in the league how? I know this year if any qb had trouble hearing commands it wasnt because of the cowbells but because of our screaming.

Doesnt matter it is a rule and you must abide by it. Other schools are not allowed to do it. Miss st was given a pass only if they followed certain rules. Does not matter if you have a smaller stadium or not.
As a side note, I could care less if you have them or not, but you should use them at the right time and dont bring them to my stadium. If they didnt have something to hold over your head, they would be used the entire game.
Cowbells=Vuvuzela= annoying as hell, buts its a tradition so you get a hall pass

Slive has a plate full of shite he needs to address. He and his "staff" should be focused on cleaning up the shite first, then worry about freaking noisemakers.

the cowbells are stupid and annoying. they also give state an added noise advantage that other teams are not allowed to have.
just yell like everybody else.
recruit better so you can win more and get a better stadium that holds more fans. then you won't need a crutch to make noise.
this is the SEC, not a gimmicky league with blue fields and eagles flying around.

I thnnk we should do "jazz hands" this year instead of the shakers....or finger snaps.

our stadium is no louder than any other stadium it kinda levels the playing field. Plus we dont ring them during play so whats the big deal.

we are already getting a stadium expansion retard. You should do your research before posting. Cowbells are not a crutch its our tradition. Its no more annoying than those pigs wearing pig noses during your games (a guy in front of me was wearing one during the game last year embarrassing).

every school has there own quirky traditions. Nobody is saying arky fans shouldnt date their sisters or cousins.

If you think this, you're an idiot. maybe some fans don't ring them, but you could see ON CAMERA fans ringing them the entire game when we played @ Starkville this year.

Yeah, just like the pig noses, except the pig noses don't make artificial noise, which is the issue here.

Cowbells are ghey and juvenile

During this entire thread....you keep getting sidetracked with this statement.
It doesn't matter if you are or aren't louder than any other stadium. Slive gave you and your redneck fan base special treatment by letting you use cowbells during certain times.
He gave you rules to live by....and MSU fans broke those rules. So how exactly are you expecting Slive to give you special treatment after you broke the rules of the special treatment that you were already given?
....and I'm willing to bet that DWS is louder with cowbells than Kentucky, Vandy, and I already know louder than VHS.
fwiw....this thread turned out exactly like I thought it would have. A couple of butthurt MSU fans bitching and completely neglecting the fact that Slive did you a favor and 95% of other fans agreeing that cowbells are stupid as frick considering the level of play that we are all representing.

almost as "ghey and juvenile" as those retarded dances that LSU's student section does during every down.

I thought something would come of the kid who was assaulted via cowbell. No?
How about this. Since the cowbells aren't an unfair advantage (according to MSU posters) and they are a huge tradition (according to MSU posters), how about allow cowbells, only they can't make any noise?
You guys can carry your cowbells, but take out the clangers.
Problem solved.

but that isn't against the rules. You keep deflecting everything away from cowbells to what other fan bases do.
....but you keep neglecting the fact that they aren't clearly against the rules set by the SEC.

As far as I know, it has.

"I'll allow it"

I get it. I love tradition. I was sad to see Col Reb and Dixie go at Ole Miss. I was pissed when they redid the gym floor at Teurlings Catholic. If I was an MSU fan, I'd be pissed about the SEC trying to take away our cowbells.
But unlike those other changes, this one is practical. What if other fanbases began brining air horns and cymbals to football games? that would be ridiculous and distracting to an unfair degree.
