Yeah at least we'll have one good defensive player. Now we need about 10 more

Returning an 2nd Team All SEC LB is good, hopefully Muschamp can turn him into an All SEC/All American this season.

That IS really good news. That's a huge coup for Boom and the rest of the team. After he first announced he was going to enter the draft early alongside Coop, I was really worried about the on-field leadership next season ... but now I'm not. The kid is special.

I remember watching him play the interstate game up here his senior year in HS, when they came up to play Southpoint I think it was ... from Florida. It was clear he was a leader even then. He's just a football player.

No kidding. Seems like a mistake as I assumed he'd grade out reasonably decent, but good news for you guys.

He needs a year as a safety as that is what he projects as in the NFL. Too small to play LB.

While he's a beast LB in college, he's only 220 lbs. That is about 20 lbs light for a "prototypical" NFL LB (so he doesn't project well at the LB position). That's why he's switching to Safety for 2016. That position is a much better fit for him at the next level.

Yep - he'll gonna play at safety for Muschamp. He's always been a smallish LB while at USC, even though he's excelled at the position.

My take on this is that he got some lukewarm feedback from the NFL concerning his size, and that they didn't think his future would be at LB. But his problem was, he never played anything else while at USC. So he'll play his final year as a safety, and if he does well there, it could boost his NFL draft potential...
