If we settle for a coach that is consistently in the playoffs and consistently makes the best team in his power conference, did we really settle?

Will take him 2-3 years to unfrick the cultural and recruiting problems Mullen left but if y’all will give him time (and lots of money to pour into analysts and recruiting budget) he should have y’all competing again.

It wasn't just him, I know a lot of boosters who said it too. I know he was the one on the rant guaranteeing it though. And who knows, sometimes coaches change their mind. I think Stoops did. Hell Billy D changed his mind after the fact. So it is tough to get a scoop on coaching hires until they are a done deal, and even then not 100%.

I don’t understand why people think they know who lsu offered and when and how much.
The only thing that’s been said multiple times by multiple people that are usually pretty good at getting info is that Woodward let Riley’s agent know that he is interested in meeting him and making an offer.
No coach that’s still playing is gonna meet any ad , they may meet with a coaches agent though.
The thing we don’t know for sure is if the offer was made or if it’s just been told to Riley’s agent that lsu is interested.
I’m not sure which it is.
We do know that woody hasn’t gotten an answer yet, I believe that.
Btw, the fans saying they want Vitello doesn’t mean he was offered. The only thing I’ve heard after the hire was made is that the higher ups at lsu didn’t let woody hire,offer,or negotiate O’Sullivan because of the crazy shite that was going on with that whole thing off the diamond

What I’m saying is that Johnson wasn’t your 1at choice. And some of those kids y’all have right now won’t ever make it to campus as some of them will drafted out of high school and end up going pro. Baseball recruiting is one of the hardest to predict because of kids able to go pro right out of
High school. Most top teams have a couple kids every year in the refrying classes that end up going pro instead of college.

I can’t speak for others; but I’ve posted in several LSU coaching threads—before Florida fired Mullen—that Napier would get my “hell, yeah” vote.
I said the same (re: Napier) when the horns were hiring last year after parting ways with Tom Herman.
I don’t have a dog in this fight; I just think Napier is a diamond.
Wouldn’t surprise me at all if Scott Woodward is still after him.
Whoever lands him will be a very interesting team to watch develop.
