OSU's Ginn went down after the opening kickoff against UF in 2006. Put an asterisk on it.
Miami's McGahee blew out a knee in 2002 against OSU. Put an asterisk on it.
I'm sure there's more.
shite happens.
We played almost the entire year without one of the best players on our team. Ingram got nicked up, Javy missed a game, Julio was hurt the first half of the season. Ro was puking on the sideline last night. Anyone trying to detract from our win is just a bitter douche.

anyone that hates on bama is silly.
TX barely escaped a bradford-less Oklahoma.
If bradford would not have gone down...TX would not have been in pasadena. end of story.

I do not understand why the national media does not talk about the red river shoot out this year. I still am upset wasting my life watching that game.

Well it is not like Colt tripped off the bus. He was hit by a bad arse, on a bad arse team. Bama knocked him out of the game, on a clean hit.

so McCoy KNEW five plays into the game that UT was gonna dominate ? what's gonna be funny in the coming weeks is the revelation that McCoy coulda come back into the game .. but he and daddy decided to put the NFL ahead of his team in the most important game of his career ...

yeah, it's funny no one's talking about the huge break UT got all season when OU lost Bradford ... without Bradford, they damn near beat Texas .. so following pussy-arse mccoy's logic, OU wins with Bradford and UT is playing in the cotton bowl ..

Mack Brown's the same pussy that whined and campaigned his way into the rose bowl in 2004 .. sure, you want your HC standing up for his team, but lay off the excuses .. injuries happen .. shame on him for having an unprepared freshman backing McCoy up .. With that in mind, why let him run ?

Not only that, Boise St would have destroyed Bama worse than Utah did.

How about having a plan at back-up QB, or at least getting the kid more playing time this year?
We haven't had a solid back-up behind Colt his whole four years on campus. I know that's hard to do in college but at least play Gilbert more during blowouts this year. ugh...
Alabama is guilty of exactly the same thing. Star Jackson has had a few snaps in garbage time. If it had been him being thrust into the NC game like that, same results probably. Alabama loses. Tough break for Texas. I respect Mack Brown though. He's a good man.

Not an asterisk, but Colt's absence will forever be the "yeah but" associated with this game. LSU's 2003 has the "yeah but" due to USC and 2007 team has the "yeah but" for the 2 losses. It doesn't take anything away from the team but you WILL get tired of hearing about it. SEC 6-0!!!

Had McCoy not been hurt at the beginning of the game, it would have been a much better game. That was unfortunate. It especially sucked to see that the Longhorns could not make Bama pay for the bonehead Saban call on 4th down and the screwed up kick return. I stopped watching at half-time, because it was obvious that Texas had no chance with Gilbert. Regardless, Bama won and has a crystal ball. A championship is earned over a season, and Bama won it. McCoy's injury may have tainted the game, but not the championship. Hopefully, LSU can get back to winning "tainted" championships.
