Yes, like it or not, race has played a role in how Henderson is perceived. I couldn't imagine the fallout if a black athlete behaved the way Henderson has. Actually, I don't have to imagine it, because it's already been proved.

I had to read half of the article to finally get to this.

And yet Henderson is being upheld as some kind of hero.

what a dumb bitch...she obviously doesn't read this message board.

Exactly. She says that it is predictable that people will call her a racist, and then she writes a completely predictable article. I contend that if Hendo was Black she would be singing his praises about his "struggle" and his "passion"

Get off your high horse Jamele. He likes to hoop, frick fat white chicks, and do drugs. Get off his cock.

race does play a role- both whites and blacks don't like a white athlete who acts/talks black. see ryan mallett for more info.

First half of the article in which she recited facts was pretty solid. However, rather than researching real opinions, she got lazy and set up a bunch of strawmen to fit into her piece in which she clearly just wants a reaction. For example:

quote:

I'll bet some of the same people who think Henderson is just a free spirit probably called Allen Iverson a selfish punk. Or thought Tyrann Mathieu never deserved to wear an LSU uniform again.

I'll bet some of the same folks who vehemently argue against college athletes being paid probably applauded Henderson for his honesty when he said he was tired of playing for free.

I mean, "I'll bet..."? Why not just do some research and find the reactions? Just lazy, poor journalism. I can't stand the straw men. Main reason I find it hard to listen to Cowherd.

She was on the money until she started with the race crap.

Had a solid article with facts to support a position that Henderson hasn't earned any admiration and granting him such is bad for college sports, but she doesn't appear to want to do a legitimate piece. It seems as if race baiting for page hits is her only trick.

Yep. She has bigger problems than the attention Hendo is receiving. She may not even know it herself yet, but definately baiting for some other sort of justification.

Hill writes what could have been a great article and then goes racist. She should be fired in my opinion. She points out that Hendo is on his fourth school, but doesn't mention Cam was on his 3rd. As far a Cam gettting more negative press, he won the heisman trophy and carried his team on his back to a natty in FOOTBALL! Hendo is a middlin' ball hog on an average team.

Again, could have been a great article slamming a punk, until she remembered that she is a racist about halfway through.

I am sure her article will make the Ole Miss fans see the light and realize their wicked ways and repent!

This article is a textbook case of how to undermine your own argument.

Her overall point is spot on...but she poisons it with with whining about "you wouldn't do this if it were a black guy!"

The notion that racist white people excuse other white people who act "street"...that's hilarious.
