For 2 weeks, LSU fans have reached for stats, and pontificated ad nauseam about how weak BAMA's schedule has been this season.

All of Coach O's retarded grunting and swamp gibberish will not help you when you have to nut up to the best team walking.

So I hope you are just as willing to review stats and retract your words after the game while icing
your collective buttholes from the pain headed your way at the hands of BAMA.

They own you. The players know it. You know it. Even your huge Downsy Cheerleader Coach knows it.

Must be a really important stat... i saw a team in the top 10 in this stat get destroyed last thursday, with 1 pass completed vs them

And, inversely, their offense. LSU ranks 99th nationally in YPP. They will be the 2nd worst offense Alabama has played all year. Alabama ranks 19th in YPP defense (LSU ranks 24th). #1 Alabama Offense vs #24 LSU Defense #99 LSU Offense vs #19 Alabama Defense Yes, I agree with Andy. YPP is an important stat. Glad you brought it up.

The only stat I care about is YPP.

SoG, how much do you think Bama's D stats are skewed from the offense forcing teams into a one dimensional offense to catch up?

The number of ranked teams on a teams schedule along with the YPP. Going by that Alabama’s looks like crap compared to LSU’s.

Alabama simply hasn’t played any defense near the caliber of LSU’s.

Same defense Florida put up 400 yards and 27 points on?

I actually just started a thread on YPP vs Averages which is a little better judge of everything.

I do think some of the lower defensive numbers for Alabama are due to the scoring of the offense and the foot off the gas/other team trying to score factor. However, we're also just not quite as dominant a unit. We make more mistakes in the back 7 than usual.

It's a Top 10 national unit, IMHO, but we aren't the best nationally like usual. We aren't as predictable and efficient as in past years. We make big plays (sacks, pass break ups, TFL) but we also give them up.

None of this matters one iota.

The best defense Alabama has faced up to now was 90th in YPP.

Does that include the Bama game or not? I wonder what those Defenses would be ranked in YPP if you extrapolate out the Bama game. Surely it would improve their ranking at least a little.

LSU represents a major test for Alabama

No doubt. And Bama is, by far, the best team LSU has played to this point as well. Should be a good game.

these Tigers from LSU have the best chance of kicking that Alabama #ss.

What do you think constitutes an arse kicking? How many points? B/c Bama hasn't lost by more than 14 points in a long, long, time (like 2003, maybe).

LSU’s defense ranks 31st in YPP, for reference that’s calculated after having competed against 5 ranked teams.

For reference, Alabama’s is calculated after only competing against one ranked team! Just one!

This is what I'm getting at, I think Bama has a good Defense, not elite like previous years.

It's hard to pinpoint the D. Yes, they make big plays (sacks, pass break ups, TFL) but when teams are going one dimensional, the D has more opportunities and doesn't have to play the run, also why you have seen them give up some big chunk plays...As does LSU

It'll be interesting if LSU keeps it close and how Bama will respond on offense and Defense.

I've seen your break down and system predicting a 30-19 type game (think that's what it predicted).

I'm leaning towards the usual dog fight in DV, something similar to UGA/Ala NC game.

Bama's performance probably hurts the rankings of those teams a lot. They are near the top in the country in big plays.

I have trouble convincing myself it won't be the same game as always until I actually see it.

Should be a good one.

Practices have absolutely nothing to do with comparisons of Ala’s or LSU’s stats. You ignorant f#ck!

Five teams were ranked when LSU played then, only four are now. Alabama shouldn’t have any ranked, Aggies barely made the bubble.

Somebody’s stats are going to get crushed Saturday, both teams stats are about to take a major hit.
