Hince why the confusion of "Ga. wants 1-7".

So why would Ga. want to drop DSOR or WLOCP?

I think it's because the goal is to shorten the amount of time between matchups. Right now it takes, what, 6 years to play a non-rival from the opposite division?
So 8 games, but with 7 rotating, or keep 3 static opponents but bump the overall total to 9.
Must be, but I think with a 3/5 you still get it every 3 years max, with most being 2 years.
With 3 permanent, you end up rotating 12 other teams. So 5, 10, and then you have 2 of the 5 on 3 year, with the last 3 being 2 year.
On average that's just barely over 2 right? What 2.3 or something off the top of my head. Still a huge improvement.
Seems better than 1-7 to me considering what you preserve.

Georgia, South Carolina, Florida and Kentucky are against the 3-6 model because they already have an OOC Power 5 rival.
I doubt UGA is against it because otherwise they'd have to decide between Auburn and UF as an annual opponent.

I would think the Rebs would go for the 3-6 arrangement. We've played LSU and State 100+ times and don't want to lose either of the games.

I would think the same for LSU. I imagine we’d want to continue playing Ole Miss and Arkansas at least, I don’t know who the third would be.

The only reason is the 8 game schedule.
You could still have the DSOR every other year etc. It's not like it goes away completely. Less is sometimes more.
I have no idea where Georgia is voting.

The way I see it is both schools want to play, let them go for it.
The problem with my theory is no one wants to play Mizzou, but three teams are going to have to be stuck with them. I'm not trying to be cheeky or cute. No one really wants to play them.

Florida is more of a rival for LSU than State, Auburn, or Arkansas. That's for sure.
LSU's permanent 3 would/should likely include Ole Miss, Florida, and I don't know who. Probably would not be Bama or Auburn. Heck we used to play Kentucky more on the reg than Auburn when I was growing up.
We'd probably be given the farmers since we'd need an easy win thrown in there with Florida and Ole Miss.

I would definitely want to hold on to the Florida game but figured Arkansas was the more likely of the two based on Florida’s other games

I always thought LSU would get Ole Miss, Arkansas and A&M.

I want the Florida game too, but I don’t think there’s a snowballs chance in hell we get to keep it. IF would have UGA and UT already and I hear on this board clamoring to revive the Auburn game.
Now would auburn want Bama, UGA, and Florida?

Well if it goes 3-6
I think the SEC Will try and have the traditional stronger programs be locked into at least two stronger teams.
Bama and LSU most likely paired.
Gators paired with OU instead of LSU.
Etc
I’m pretty sure that’s what was shown in the SI example.

That could be a really good draw for LSU. There is proximity to the schools, history with them, and outside of aTm/UTw and the egg bowl no real other rivals.

Prolly Gumps permanent three will be Vandy, Missouri and USC. Prolly.

Lsu has played MSU more than any other team. A&M is 7th for Lsu, but what's interesting is only 10 of those games happened as conference mates. I could see arguments for just about anyone in the west for Lsu and UF too.

I would think so. Auburn isn't scared of playing good teams. They used to play Tennessee, Florida, Georgia, and Alabama every season, and Florida State and Georgia Tech too.

I would be shocked if LSU ends up with UF or Bama. Pleasantly but shocked.

They'll get Bama & Georgia plus an easier team.
