Look at last year, because Labor Day was on September 1st (the earliest it can be) we had Week 1 on August 30th and it allowed teams to have a second bye week during the season. This year, because Labor Day is September 7th (the latest it can be), we aren't having Week 1 until September 5th. We're essentially losing an entire week of college football.

Yes I know there's a minor "appetizer" of games today on Week 0, but I think starting the last Saturday in August (regardless of Labor Day) and allowing teams to have two bye weeks is the way going forward, especially with an expanded CFP.

They can still have Week 0 if they want and move that up to the second to last saturday in August, but it just feels weird that we don't have a full slate of games today.

How long before they add a 13th regular season game because they need the money? Do away with conference championship games and put it there.

These players are all paid now. They should give us our moneys worth. All teams should play every week from Labor Day until Thanksgiving.
