Would end up with less bowl teams and less overall money for the SEC IMO

Because Kentucky wouldn't be stacked with east teams and playing weak west teams anymore?

Could not care less. Nothing the SEC does will move State away from those a-holes who reside 82 miles to the east. It's all futile

Embrace it. MSU has been one of the few programs historically with the balls to play that game. I mean, we could have gone the Ole Miss route and avoided them at all costs and play UT Chattanooga instead, but that would make us pussies.

The pod system thing seems to be by far the best overall solution.

Would be fascinating to see the lobbying that goes on when deciding the pods.

Would geographic proximity, perceived balance or traditional rivalries be prioritized?

Yes, yes, and yes. And that would be the problem with it, because you won't be able to please everyone.

It's been gamed out before and seems pretty fair and liked by almost all schools who their 3 teams are.

Nothing is perfect but most people seemed satisfied.

Wouldn't the SEC have to go to 16 teams for pods? How would the pod system work with 14 teams.

Divisions make rankings/standings easier to figure out.

No divisions creates tie-breaker Hell to figure that out with little-to-no common opponents.

I'm thinking geography would be 1st.

Feel free to post a list of each team's hypothetical 3 permanent opponents. I haven't seen this, maybe others are in the same boat.

You do realize that the Big XII rules wouldn't apply to the SEC, right?

Not that this is shocking to me, but it speaks to the overall intelligence of this board when a poster like this cites rules and analysis and is downvoted.

I'm really not sure what the point is for the up/down vote feature. Does this website give an award for Mr. Congeniality?

I posted some pics on another thread of Bush 41's funeral train and somebody (presumably a Michael Dukakis supporter) down voted it. Go figure.

Possibly. It wouldn't change much at the top, because UGA/Bama will be playing each other every year in the Championship game, but it would help to sort out the mess underneath

More like the SEC should go back to 10 schools.

Like this idea - I agree that A&M’s 3 “perms” would be LSU, Arkansas and Mizzou. Works geographically and from a historical perspective. Also like that it rotates every team every other year - insane that A&M hasn’t played Georgia yet.

Interested to see what the other teams would take as their permanent three and see if it works.

How would last year have worked?

10-2 (7-1) AU beat 11-1 (7-1) UGA and Bama.

Who plays in the title?

What would the matchup have been for the SECCG the last 10 years?
