I'll never understand why Vols fans wait until everything is in shambles before making a change.

We're so much better off if we fire Fulmer after 2005. So much better off if we fired Dooley shortly after his introductory press conference. So much better off if we dump Botch this year and let a real coach take a crack at it with our roster next year. We won't though. We will frick this up and wait until every ounce of talent is gone and then wonder why we have a hard time selling a total rebuild on the next coach.

Pretty much.

I will say this, your team had me worried for a while. They're actually pretty good.

Split UF/Bama? You chalking up a win over a team you haven't beaten in a decade? There is a picture of you in the dictionary next to the word stubborn. Rock on man, don't let me spoil your party.

Programs don't improve when they say frick it and scrap everything at the first sign of adversity. Dooley was so shitty that Butch needs 4 years to have the opportunity to fully rebuild everything. And anyone who doesn't see that this team is improved must be blind. I've noticed some encouraging and some discouraging things about our staff this year. If we're not up to serious contender status by next year though, I'm afraid we won't ever be under Butch. That's when Butch will have only his guys, and can't fault Dooley anymore for any failure.

I'll make it easy for you. Tennessee will never be a serious contender under Butch. It's too bad we'll waste Dobbs and Hurd's final seasons to figure that out.

And who gives a shite if he improves on Dooley. Congrats on not being the worst coach in SEC history.

If Butch wins out, he will have gotten Tennessee as far in three years as James Franklin got Vanderbilt in two. Let that shite sink in.

We should hire our next coach then go ahead and fire him before he coaches a game - would that be soon enough?

Considering how bad the hires have been, that may be a good move. Just let the equipment manager have a crack at it. If he blows a bunch of leads, and loses a bunch of games that look like wins, then all you've done is save millions of dollars.

I hope they keep Lyle. He will never beat Saban. He will be a much less successful M Richt at best.

We'll find out over the next 1.5 seasons. Maybe he's not the guy, but no one can definitively say that until we see how he does with a roster of just his players. Impatient, entitled fans rarely help a program.

The most retarded thing about this shite that OhioVolfan30 is spewing is that we are right on pace to do what every vol poster on this board wanted to us to accomplish.

We have a greater than 50% chance of winning all of our remaining games, according to the oddsmakers.

So if that happens we would be 8-4 with a couple of freak bounces away from being 10-2. With the youngest roster in the league.

We would have gotten through the whole season without losing by more than one possession. That hasn't happened since the fricking 90s.

What the hell do you people expect?

To have one good year with a talented roster and then go backward like Auburn with Malzahn? Who is to say Florida isn't going to have that same thing happen?

Who really gives a shite if you are 8-4 after losing to every team you play that is good?

I mean you beat UGA and M Richt and have lost to OU, UF, Upigg and stroke mouth , and Bama. You lead 3 of those in the final minutes.

So your assertion is that we should have expected 11-1 this year?

When we haven't won that many games since 2001?

Apparently you have very high standards for Butch.

8-4 is not really an improvement when you look at who 7 of those wins were against.

And that is if Lyle doesn't step on his dick again against one of these bottom feeders y'all play next.

What we should have done with Dooley.

It's the same shite that it was with Dooley. People act like its a god damn toss up and like anything can happen. Butch will finish his career with the same number of SEC titles as I have.

Vols fans are so scared of uncertainty that they'll just take the losing up front.

He can use the young team excuse each year when UT signs 30 again after more transfer. 14 in the last 2 classes. He's the hype man at a hip-hop concert. He can't rap but gets the crowd ready for the real rappers. He only improves because his schedule is shite.

^ this guy gets it....just add in "processing" Freshman non-stop so he can have his auto-excuse of "but we are the youngest team in the league bullshite" the the dumb arse fans fall for.

Good coaches make teams better, with or without their own players. UF had 4 SEC wins last year. Halfway through his first season, McElwain already has four wins.
Miles won a title before his own players were on board.
Saban won a title before his own players were on board.
Spurrier won an SEC title his first year at UF.
Richt won two SEC titles in his first three years, without his own players. Butch Jones won't even sniff a chance at making it to Atlanta. For all the heat Richt gets, compare that stat to Butch Jones.

Vols need to fire Butch Jones.

What hot name coach will be available if UT waits on Butch?
Whittingham
Fuente
Wells
Carey
C.Kelly
Herman
Riley
Hudspeth
Babers
Rhule
Brohm
Morris
Clark
May all be gone before UT cans butch then they have to settle again for a lower tier coach that is cheap.
