Obviously, you're doing it wrong. It's one of the greatest cities on the planet. Those who think NOLA is just about Bourbon street and all that crap will more than likely run in to trouble in that area. The city has so much more to offer than that.

tell me where to go then good sir. All I've ever been around is the french quarter. Maybe some nice side streets and neighborhoods on the edges with some cool shops but I thought that was pretty much it.

You won't find many (if any) LSU fans on Bourbon. Uptown brah

For a night game, he will see more LSU fans on Bourbon, Saturday night than Ole Miss fans. The Ole Miss fans will be out Friday night.

Yeah , I would totally avoid Bourbon but that's me. Here's a map that kinda shows the layout of the city

Tulane & Loyola are uptown, on St Charles Ave. The street is lined with huge old homes.

Magazine Street is also a cool street. Check it out. Alot of shops, bars, & cool places to eat.

Here are some bars on the top of my head(these are not all uptown)
Walk-On's
Manning's
Cooter Brown's
The Bulldog
Rusty Nail
Tracey's

Lol at Walk-Ons

If you're 25 and under, get in a cab, tell the guy to take you to F&M's or Grits and thank me later.

I'd definitely go to F&M's but not to watch a game. Do they even have televisions? I truthfully can't remember

Are there some above the bar with the pool table?

Or if he doesn't wan to cab it. Walk down to Frenchman St. and all the music clubs there. Infinitely better than Bourbon St.

I have done this. Unfortunately, this is the likely scenario. These dudes will laugh at me to want to leave the French Quarter at all. (Personally, I hate the French Quarter -- as a Florida fan that goes to New Orleans every time we play LSU away, I'm beginning to hate it and might switch to Baton Rouge next time)

Will definitely still have fun

Just wish I could do something different when I visit New Orleans for once.

I'm a little younger but the Warehouse District is the place for 28-35 year olds.

ETA: also try the Goldmine in the FQ after 2.

A Florida fan dick riding LSU before LSU's loss to Ole Miss? Nice.

If I were you I'd first leave the French Quarter on foot and head straight to Treme. After your fun there, hop in a cab and ask to be taken to the Lower Ninth Ward. Have fun, bruh.
