Should Alabama build a statue of Less Miles?

To preface: I think Saban is arguably the GOAT and probably would have had a dynasty at Bama regardless; however, don't you have to admit that it was extremely fortunate that he had the benefit of the one annual opponent who could usually come close to matching his team's talent level be coached by a barely-functionin, grass-eatin, mouth-breathin blockhead?
Bama was undermanned and coming off probation in Saban's first season in 2007, yet still nearly upended LSU in one of like four miracle wins that season. I remember thinking, "holy shite we're screwed long term unless Michigan takes Piles off our hands," but apparently that story was made up by Herbie to give us false hope and embarrass Michigan. In the meantime, LSU seemingly blew the NC game by losing to 7-4 Ar-Kansas at home but managed to back into it by everyone else losing and become the only two-loss champion of the modern era. To this day the room temperature IQ "He's are coach!1!!" crowd of our fanbase still defends that ignoramus ftr.
I think it's safe to say that even a decent coach would've been strong competition for Bama throughout that decade that we had Elmer Fudd holding us down. Who wouldn't want their biggest competitor being saddled with a numbskull who is trying to run a Bo Schembechler offense with running QBs?
Nomination for statue design

Let it go man. I couldn't stand him either but just be happy everyone who need to leave has moved on

Why not Coach O? His 25% win rate is pretty fortunate for Saban.

No but we should build one of Rita Rodriguez

CEO didn't get the program out of Miles' shadow until last season. Even now we still have offensive recruits saying that they want wait and see if LSU's offense was a one-hit wonder. Last season, Bama had a significant talent advantage according to most services pluz 8 warm up games and a bye week before getting LSU at homd

I came here to leave a snarky response and then I saw this and felt like it was unnecessary. Good job man, we all have to discipline our own sometimes.

Dude, give this shite a rest.
I know it's "cool" to hate on Miles right now, but for frick's sake-
114-34, 1 national title, 2 appearances in the title game; 2 SEC titles, 3 trips to Atlanta; his average season was 10-3.
EVERY SEC team other than LSU had a losing season during his tenure, his worst during that stretch was 8-5.
Quit being a bitch.

Ole Miss did it twice in a row.

No, it's been "cool" to anyone with a brain since 2006. If your expectations for that kind of talent level are just to have winning seasons, yes he's your man, no one did Les with more. His national title came after being handed his second loss of the regular season byArkansas at home in the last game of the regular season; no team will ever be that lucky. He was dead weight on LSU and screwed us out of living up to our potential and countless millions of dollars.

You should direct that at your hero: Piles is the most baby-back of bitches, from throwing Jordan Jefferson under the bus for his own idiocy in 2009 to taking a cheap shot at Coach O in 2018 and then being a coward and backtracking. He is as class-Les as he is clue-Les. All you pussies were making snide little remarks about CEO for the past two years and now we're supposed to feel bad for poor widdle Less

Yeah I think Freeze is the best opposing coach Saban had in his division until now. He built/bought their talent level to at least top 10 vicinity I think, not equal to Bama's, but close. Meanwhile LSU had Elmer Fudd trying to stuff running QB's into a Bo Schembechler offense and being a hail mary away from an 0-3 against Bert Bielema

Daily reminder - Saban is 1-4 against Coach O.

You don't think all the fumbles and other things Alabama did was part of it?
How can you expect to win a game when you have 5 turnovers in it?

Their 2015 win was fluky (see also the Chad Kelly deflected TD pass) but 2014 wasn't at all. Yes he was a scumbag, but you have to be a pretty damn good coach to take UM to back to back NY6 games in the post-segregation era

One of the few games I've missed. Was traveling on the road with a damn Auburn fan texting me the score.
Ole Miss vacated 2014, so I guess technically they didn't win 2 in a row. Vacated wins are so dumb.

LSU are now a perennial powerhouse offense because of one phenomenal season spearheaded by Joe Brady.
Just ignore that they replaced him with Scott Linehan

Miles isn't my hero, but it's fricking annoying to listen to someone bitch like a spoiled brat.
"Oooh, he didn't win MORE titles"
"Oooh, he didn't win with more flash"
"Oooh, we had some bad play"
I get it, we all get it. You are traumatized by his mere existence.
Just get the frick over it. You complain about doing less with more... do you give him credit for bringing in the talent? No, I bet you don't.
If you want to talk about throwing people under the bus, let's not forget Orgeron with his comments about Brossette, or the place kickers, a few years back. That wasn't too classy, either. And I'm not going to bash O at this point, because he's doing the job.
A whole lot of proud programs have actual losing seasons under their belt during this period. Our worst was 8-5.
You sound like one of those "anyone can win at LSU" guys. What was your explanation for the 90's, then?
