I am more concerned with the offense not getting third downs when needed, poor ball control by he offense, and the fact that Knight can't throw easy throws.

The defense did great considering the circumstances.

7 TO"s and made the only stop that really mattered. Not a pretty defensive game in terms of tackles but those TO"s were forced, it wasn't like UT was just bobbling the ball. I'll take our chances.

That was the first time our defense has given up 30 points in a game under Chavis. The tackling was unusually bad, but we forced 5 fumbles. I couldn't care less about yards given up. Points per drive is the end measure of defensive success. It was a bad showing, but it wasn't terrible, and it's the only bad showing we've had since he has been here.

They bent and broke but benefitted from UT miscues. Giving up nearly 700 yards to Tennessee has to raise eyebrows.

Plus our best player was playing hurt and out most of the game. Chavis earned every dollar and more last night.

Maybe he will take a lifetime contract.

Tennessee has had fumble problems all season, however they've been unusually successful in recovering them. Credit to A&M for being opportunistic.

A&M fans don't see the 7 TO's as solely the result of miscues by Tennessee. Our failure to wrap up and their failure to hold onto the football are related.

On 4 of those turnovers, that's EXACTLY what we were doing. Credit for taking advantage of our mistakes.

Credit to having the SEC's best offense. When it gets going it's out of this world!

Nope....big W!!! Played without Garrett for most of the game. Played stretches without Wilson and Washington too.

More concerned about the offense.

I agree with cardboardboxer. That offense is no joke. I wish we had Garrett back, I don't think Johnson was ready. I'm looking forward to seeing what y'all can do against a great bama D.

Yeah they led the country in fumbles. It was obviously the game plan for Aggy D, as you can see not only from the results but the method yesterday. We were going for kill shots and strips and it led to a lot of missed tackles.

We're over it!

I don't think so. Now... if we were only kicking 3 FGs a game... then yes.

The pressure is definitely off of him. He knows offensive points are coming to help out. Just so hard to carry an entire program without offensive help.

No. Chief is a very good DC and they'd be hard pressed to find someone better. It's just that it's really freaking hard to stop UT's offense when it gets rolling and AK and John Kelly had a freaking day up the middle. Yes, you could argue the fumbles saved his bacon but that's part of the game and at least one was a true forced fumble. AND their offense did them few favors -- that's a big part of the issue. Fast offenses all the time (as opposed to using speed as pace) can kill your own D.

For whatever reason this Vols team is one of those teams that can be crazy good or awful depending on the quarter. And it's also a team that plays up or down to its competition.

I saw TAMU hit harder than they've ever hit under Sumlim. And while I wasn't happy with all the head to head hits they were using on our guys, the effort is there and when effort is there but not the production it kinda shows that maybe you just don't have the players for your system yet.

The only thing I can really complain about is that TAMU got away with too many obvious PI calls (it wasn't like it was just one or two). Their secondary should easily be exploitable under most circumstances but a DB is going to do what he can get away with and refs set the tone for what they're going to call.
