Funny, that's what was said about Katrina. Except everyone said, "It ain't gonna be Betsy."

They said that about Camille... when the police went door to door to get people to leave before it hit, if they refused to leave the police asked for their next of kin info.

After Harvey if either of these come to Houston I want them to act like Hurricanes rather than biblical thunderstorms flooding everything. Hurricanes come in, wreck shite, and get the f outta dodge.

No hurricane has ever produced an EF-5 tornado.

2005 was a hell of a year for hurricanes. You also had Wilma hit Florida and Texas IIRC as well as some earlier storms before Katrina.

I live in West Palm Beach. Moved here in June, 2004. We were hit by two hurricanes (Frances and Jeanne) three weeks apart in September. The eye of both storms hit Stuart, FL. and were both Cat 3s.

We then got hit by Wilma the next year...in October, 2005. That was the only hurricane that I've been through (more than 15, starting with Camille) that the eye actually crossed over where I was. It was so strange walking outside in the eye. I only did it for a minute or two...I was too chicken shite (or smart) to do it any longer waiting for the back end to hit.

The only bright spot about Wilma hitting in late Oct was handling being out of power for 5 days...it was very comfortable at night.

Yep. At least Marco is getting torn apart and looks to be mainly a rain event at this point. Hopefully Laura doesn't strengthen past at Cat 1.

On a lighter note, a customer walks into a bar and orders a Corona and 2 hurricanes. The bartender says that will be $20.20.

No way do the hurricanes hit Louisiana or Texas.

You heard it hear first and this is my prediction.

Good thing I'm not a weatherman.
