Nathan Bedford Forrest has monuments all over Tennessee, a state park named after him, etc. Even excluding anything regarding his involvement with the KKK, he was every bit the ruthless killer Sherman was. It was a different time with a different moral code when it came to the rules of war.
Forrest killed men in battles. Sherman had his troops purposely rape and murder girls and women and bash babies heads against walls and stomp on their tiny little necks when the men weren't around.
Not really the same thing, Yank.

You call yourself "stunna," which is derived from black culture while complaining about an army that helped to end slavery. Amazing

I know lsu fans are Yankees and love Sherman more than anyone but, what he did was wrong on a moral level.
It would be like the Japanese winning WWII, and then having them slitting the throats of all the babies in America and raping all the women after all American men were dead.
It's just not very nice.
I mean, if Johnny Reb hadn't felt the need to enslave an entire race and rip the country in half, Sherman wouldn't have had to march his arse to Atlanta to teach that redneck a lesson.
But where you're from, they probably call it the war of northern aggression.

Killing unarmed women and children in rapturous and homicidal purges did not help end slavery, Yankee.
It only sated the blood-lust of a maniacal killer.

Slavery was much more ingrained in the culture of the North and for much longer than it was in the South.
Southerners only learned how to do slavery from Northerners. And, of course, the only Southerners who owned slaves to any great extent were what would be basically billionaires today, not the regular man on the street just trying to live his life.
None of that makes it okay for Sherman to do what he did and for lsu fans to applaud it and revel in it.

Grant himself cleared NBF on Fort Pillow, said his men were ordered to fight to the death and that is what happened.
Link? His memoirs say otherwise, as do the eyewitness accounts from both sides.

This is a better troll. It has potential.
Before long, we'll be singing Randy Newman's song "Rednecks" together.

Atlanta was already burning when he got there iirc, the Rebs tried to blow up ammunition dumps to keep the Uncle Billy from capturing them. Also the 1st Alabama Cavalry was Sherman's bodyguard

Wasn't the University of Lousiana State University owned by Sherman?
Most of the South was, but this is about celebrating the man that went scorched earth on them.
