who knows... it could be a MSU bag man for all they know, judging from that retarded quote.

One would just think that if sheridan was gonna come on the radio and make a bunch of claims, he'd at least get his OWN story straight.

so how many tick tick ticks are we going to have? it's been said every time since after the Cam stuff came out, someone says something about Auburn and still nothing. keep on ticking

Well, if you really want an answer to that question you could get on a national board and ask the USC fans. Or, you could just fall back on what Julie Roe Lach told that idiot coach of yours...she'll tell you when it's over.

he also said most bama fans weren't excited to see AU get in trouble and had no desire to see them hammered.

Well, I have got to go outside now and feed and water the dogs. But rest assured, I'll be on the lookout for that damn bag man.

From another board

quote:

a bama grad claiming that AU is going down on the FB show..........how original.
And just in time for FB to grab some hits and head lines during the SEC media days. Hmmmm

He actually said that he heard they "think" they know who the third party is and they are trying to get a bag man to come forward.

I think I know who shot JFK and I am trying to get someone with proof to corroborate. See I can do it too.

Anybody who claims to have inside sources with the NCAA lying...especially a bookie/odds maker.

It's been posted in this thread, I believe. he has since toned down his claims a bit. It seems he's gone from "NCAA has located bagman", to "NCAA thinks it has located bagman", to "if NCAA locates bagman".

he also said they haven't been able to prove he is the bag man or that there is a connection to AU... How can you say they found a bag man in one breath and say they can't prove he is a bag man in the next

Either he is or he isn't.

I'm gonna go really slow because you're an Auburn fan. But try to keep up anyway, OK?

Sheridan said from the start that they had found the bag man and were trying to get him to come forward. They need him to come forward because they don't yet have evidence independently proving that he's the bag man. They know he is, but they can't yet prove it without his cooperation.

Get it now?

And I am gonna go really slow for you.. Danny Sheridan just changed his story.. A caller just asked him to clarify that the NCAA has found a bagman.. He said no they haven't. He believes the NCAA thinks a wealthy third party was involved and they are looking for him and hope he comes forward...

frick this clown.

Look, all of you deluded Auburn fans can scoff at Sheridan's remarks all you want. But it all boils down to this point, which most defintely is more than anyone knew yesterday:

According to Sheridan's source...one that he says hasn't been wrong in 25 years...the NCAA has two names...the name of the bag man and the name of the source of the money...and that the source of the money isn't a "rogue booster". At this time they do not have evidence to prove that they in fact paid Newton, which is why they hope that the bag man will go on the record.

But they do have two very specific names of two very specific individuals...one apparently tied to the university. And that most certainly is a helluva lot more than anyone knew that the NCAA had yesterday.

Laugh all you want...they're getting closer.

i think the bottom line is, that, the ncaa is definately crawling around auburn, ga--they know something went on with the cam deal, might not be able to totally prove THAT and might be a little miffed. and that is or should be a scarey thing for any program....don't think they are going to stop digging until they find something.

Please hurry. I'm dying to know what you think.

This is the funniest ever in the last 8 months of Bama fans fapping over nothing. Like I said, I've been reading the tweets and reading this thread from work and haven't heard the audio.

This dude qualified everything he said with if, maybe or allegedly. The following pretty much says it all

---

The following is all according to Sheridan.

The NCAA thinks Newton was bought and paid for; it's all a matter of proving it now. Some amount of money went to Cecil Newton, while another amount went to Cecil's church. This money was handled by a "third party". The investigation has "revved up" since Chizik's outburst in Destin. The total amount is approximately $180-200K, with $20-30K having gone to the church. Sheridan has "no idea" if this is true.

This is a direct quote: "They're trying to get a third person, allegedly the bag man, to step forward, and if he steps forward, it'll be a bad situation. But I don't know that he will step forward. I don't know if they have any evidence. I don't want you to misquote me." This "third party/bag man" would be someone doing the work so the someone else's fingerprints are not on the transaction. This third party is not a "rogue alumni".

Sheridan's sources at the NCAA are "25 years old" (as in, he's had a sources there that long; it's not a twentysomething feeding him info) and have never mislead him. There are also 15 other schools being looked at, but he will not name them. They feel money changed hands in the Newton case, but if it can't be proven, the case "will be dropped in probably three-to-six months." Sheridan is not aware of any ongoing investigation of Mississippi State.

Confusingly, Sheridan later says that "Auburn had nothing to do with this" and that this third party "I won't say was working for a rogue alumni." I don't get what he's hinting at here. If the third party didn't do this with the school's knowledge and wasn't working for a rogue alumni, who is he and why did he get involved? Is he some sort of non-alumni booster? Two questions later, he says "if they are guilty of paying a student, not they but the alumni..." Huh?

Sheridan closes by saying the "they [the NCAA] think they know the third party, and they think they know the party that put up the money." That means the NCAA is looking at two entities here: someone who allegedly financed this alleged deal and someone who allegedly carried out this alleged deal. If the NCAA can remove the four "allegedly" instances out of that statement, Auburn's in deep trouble

all this would seem more credible to me if it were not leaked

the idea of a well connected person spilling the beans during an investigation seems unlikely to me
