I'm certainly glad the AP and UPI did give Bama the championship trophies that season, they deserved it.

Arkansas, being Arkansas, just didn't have the name recognition or, really, talent on the field.

Think about it, who in the hell wants a team like Arkansas to be NC's? That is just bizarre.

Of course Alabama doesn't have any NCAA NC's, there is no such thing for Div.1A. Did you just figure this out and think you have stumbled upon some profound discovery?

When calculating a team's total wins though, as I was doing, it is sensible to only include teams that have been in the NCAA, and a big boy team, for a reasonable amount of time.

See if you can connect the dots on that bit of information and make the light-bulb come on.

I think you are wrong. Everyone here is extremely interested in all things Alabama.

I took the time before starting to post and reviewed quite a few threads.

This board and all it's members are all about Alabama. Rarely can you go more than 3 threads without having someone mention Alabama, usually in a derogatory manner and most always off topic.

So, hey, why not just create a thread for Alabama and about Alabama? For winners, by winners, about winners.

The thing is, a couple of teams in the SEC started playing football before the AP or UPI and were quite good at it.
