but we were unaware that they redshirted McPherson last year
McPerson was the starting kicker last year - dude didn't miss all season (13-13 FG, 40-40 PAT) He was a red-shirt in 2022 but kicked in the last game of the season after Anders Carlson injured this shoulder

No way could I send my kid to that school of losers. He will be tainted forever. Good luck having to watch him cheer for the cult during the iron bowl and throw azz wipe into trees.

You’re spot on…our visit was last summer and he was going to be a RS Freshman. He’s a baller. He was a 2022 projected to leave after 3 like his brother…so a 2025 could have worked for y’all…which is why we visited. Him taking a RS and y’all picking up Towns on a PWO ended Auburn for us…but no big deal. Just part of the process.

My 2 roommates at Auburn were Architecture Majors. Very good program.

Historically, Auburn has averaged around 80% overall acceptance. Prior to 2023, the lowest number on record was 70% in 2011. The highest was 92% in 1998.
where are you finding these numbers?

Auburn is a back up school for kids who couldn’t get in Georgia, Alabama or Florida.
Spoken like someone who couldn't get into any of these. Gwinnett Tech?

This new 44% number that continues to be quoted was for the early enrollment period, which admits only the highest ranked applicants.
This is not true - you just stopped following the latest updates because it was more convenient that way.
Here are the official numbers (TOTAL acceptance vs applications). You can re-calculate it yourself.
2022 - 43% accepted based on 46k total applications.
2023 - 50% (updated) based on 48k total applications
2024 - 39% (early enrollment) per recent press release

This is the category Auburn now quotes for their overall acceptance rate, which is a lie. But for those who are actually accepted during the early entrance period, it’s a great accomplishment.
What a douche. You are broken.

I don't think you'll regret it. My son went there in computer science, and he loved every minute of it.

Welcome friend. My kid is also going to Auburn. Got offers from Alabama, Auburn and Ole Miss but she decided Alabama was too big and Ole Miss too far away. Most of her friends are going there anyway

Only moron parents take sports into consideration when picking a school for their child.

How would you know this and why is it a lie? I ask because two years ago I heard similar statistics for my kids class, also heard from in state parents that said they knew of numerous kids with good grades and high ACT scores that did not get into Auburn... as a parent of a current student, everything I have read and heard about this acceptance rate trends true
My experience as well. The kids who didn’t get into Auburn got into Alabama or LSU or Ole Miss and are going there

My son had a similar situation. ACT 29, high 3.x GPA. Took ACT 3 times and couldn’t get over that 30 hump even with tutoring. Ugh. Wanted to major in engineering. He applied at Auburn and we spent E-Day there.
He eventually decided to stay close to home and went to UAH. It’s not Auburn but a good engineering program and major opportunities in Huntsville for eng grads. If I remember correctly his package at Auburn was Spirit of Auburn schollie for $5000 a year and some other benefits. Got a similar deal at UAH. That one damn ACT point cost us thousands a year!
