FWIW R2R, a lot of us have a tendancy to do this - I know I have a tendancey to do this, however inadvertant - so the better question is - does she do it intentionally, or is she replying to posts that start the slide towards IM threads?

She's certainly not the only transgressor. There are many. You can't get even 2 or 3 posts into a thread without either an amateur comedian responding with some pathetic, played-out one-liner or have someone say something to the effect of:
