quit acting like you talking about Missouri or something. Its Florida. They destroy yall in baseball and basketball since turn of century. And our still one of better programs in football. Yes I am an LSU fan but had to point that out

Congrats on the two titles 10 years ago, but Alabama has a much better winning percentage in basketball than Florida.
Alabama: 1636-1012-1 .618 W-L%
Florida: 1387-1083 .561 W-L%
UF and Bama's basketball programs aren't comparable. Use '50s results to make yourself feel better if you want to, I guess

It's really nice knowing that UF will be competitive in any sport I put on. Football, basketball, baseball, any other minor sport showing on ESPNU.
It's nice to have stuff to watch all year rather than living and dying by football season

Don't get all sanctimonious on us. Watching a team make the Sweet 16 is nothing compared to watching a team make the CFP.
You know this. I know this. Everyone on this site knows this.

In terms of overall well-rounded? A&M
In terms of overall titles? Arkansas

Money wise, A&M beats everyone.
But success wise, I'd say UF.

False.
Only two sports matter.

Do SEC fans (minus Kentucky) shoot one another over basketball games? As much as we might like another sport whether it's basketball or something like competitive paint drying, football rules SEC sports fandom and none of the other sports come close. Even if you combined the passion fans had for all the other sports and put that passion up against football it still wouldn't be close.
It's not healthy for SEC fans or our athletic departments to be as myopic about it as we are but it's the truth. Other sports are followed and loved without a doubt but there's an enormous gap between football and everything else (again Kentucky is the exception that makes the rule here).

I agree. But while the drop off from football to basketball is large, there is no third college sport that's taken seriously all over the country.
Football is number one. Men's basketball is number two. Nothing is number three.

Football and basketball matter
I will always point out that in the first college football playoff game ever, more people watched the final four in basketball than in football
Football is a big deal obviously, but people across the country do care about basketball, especially the tournament which slaughters football postseason
CBS plays billions of dollars for the tournament alone
But regular season football kills basketball

There are 2 sports that matter, and Florida isn't best in either.

That's part of the difference, imo. If we're talking about a national audience basketball comes out near or even above football levels but there's a pretty big difference between the national audience and SEC fans in terms of how high our passions for the different sports run.
Really the SEC would do well to invest more in growing basketball fandom and strengthening our competitive level as a conference in it as it provides an enormous rate of return with a much smaller $$$ investment required for success. Doing something about the pitiful refereeing that has plagued the men's game for several years now would be a good start but overall the conference needs to get schools to invest and fans to buy in the way we do with football.

No, Florida is #13. Arkansas is 7th and LSU is 8th. According to your link.
Arkansas is the highest ranked team in the Directors cup as of now also
