Who's got the best program after Florida? Aggie maybe?

Only one sport matters and you know this.
Congrats on being the best at Quidditch.

Not so fast my friend
If not for Alabama football and Kentucky basketball the SEC would have a greatly diminished national value.

This seems like something CGSC Lobotomy would post.

quote:No doubt! Alabama football and Kentucky basketball are second to none in the SEC. However as incredible as both those programs are this topic is about the school's entire athletics department. UGA is amazing at gymnastics, Arkansas has an awesome track program, LSU is second to none in baseball, etc. etc. etc. So overall, taking the school's athletics program as a whole, who comes in second to the Gators in your opinion?

So you're happy winning titles in women's sports and being subpar in football?
That sucks.

So 'Bama has football
LSU has baseball
UK has basketball
Arkansas has track
UGA has gymnastics and tennis
A&M has swimming and diving (that AU used to have)
SC has women's bball (that UT used to have)
Their are a number of SEC powerhouses in softball
SC won the women's soccer SEC title this year
Sooo.... where does UF fit on this list?
Are you bragging about a bunch of 2nd - 4th place finishes?

Directors Cup shows A&M clearly in 2nd annually.
However, as long as we suck at football and basketball, not happy.

LSU is the best overall, historically.
LSU has 47 National Championships overall in men's basketball, baseball, boxing, men's golf, football, and men's and women's T&F.
Arkansas has the second most National Championships with 45, but 43 of those have been in T&F/CC.

Strawman?
I'm just pointing out that all of these victories in level three sports don't mean jack shite.
Football is king and the King of football in the SEC is all anyone really cares about.

We're SHOCKED that an Alabama fan thinks basketball doesn't matter.

We're #6 in the country in NCAA titles though. Not too shabby. LSU checks in at #9.

Congrats on the two titles 10 years ago, but Alabama has a much better winning percentage in basketball than Florida.
Alabama: 1636-1012-1 .618 W-L%
Florida: 1387-1083 .561 W-L%

That counts both individual and team titles. It's nice to have a runner win the 200M, but its not near equal an team title.

And has never been to a Final Four, much less won a NCAA Championship.
