Damn I’m old. Just yesterday Bama and Dave Magadan were making a run in Omaha, losing to Texas in the final in 1983. I had just graduated HS and we followed it from the beach in PCB. Been a long dry spell since then for Bama baseball, with exception of the Jim Wells years. Hell, that was a long time ago too.

I completely forgot about the Chanticleers. Interesting background there about why SC had different coaches in the '75 (Bobby Richardson) and '77 (June Raines) College World Series.
Those fricking little french chants, or as we called them back in the day, "Chaucer's Bastards" ... and they pitched their temper tantrum fit in '76 and, forty years later, their dreams come true. Gotta give-em credit.
ETA: The Chants were 6-2 in the 2016 CWS. What is that, .750? I think SC has that beat but I'll have to look.

Alabama had some badass teams in the early to mid 2000s. National Seed a couple times. It’s fricking tough to make it to Omaha man. Baseball is a wierd game.
