LSU is 42-14-1
3rd in league play
Went 2-1 against 2nd place league finisher
Won 6 in a row

I like LSUs chances.

The league will get two top seeds. Vanderbilt dug their grave. South Carolina is on the ropes. Ole Miss is on the ropes. It's there for LSU to take IMO.

UK softball had a similar story but they had a solid non conference and got to the SEC tourney championship game (Georgia won) and UK wound up hosting the 1st round NCAA games. I would say UK baseball will be #2 seed in Bloomington where they will get to play them again this season.

It will be a replay of the Gary Regional of a few years ago when they paired UK with PU in the Gary bracket to get a B1G vs SEC matchup on BTN. Pretty sure NCAA will do this again but switch IU for PU.

Those are our high points but we're also

5-8 against rpi top 25
SOS 43
road record isnt great.

They have some holes in their resume. Hosting sure but the holes could be big enough to not be a national seed.

It would really help lsu if state gets into the top 25 rpi. That 5-8 goes to 8-8. And if lsu gets 2 more wins against ole miss and state it goes to 10-8. All of the sudden that hole in the resume is now a plus. Not to mention adding conference champs to the resume. Their rpi would probably wind up top 10 as well.

LSU is more deserving of a host spot than OM and Vandy IMO. They have been playing lights out down the stretch.

National Seeds Locks

Virginia
Florida State
Miami
Florida
Indiana
ULL
Oregon State

Bubble

TCU, LSU, Ole Miss, South Carolina

Even though Miami lost two, they still won the most games in ACC history. Won the ACC regular season. Still deserving of top 8 seed.

One team to keep an eye on is Texas. They've played fewer games than most teams, so they only sit at 38-16 on the year. They just picked up a good wins over Texas Tech and Oklahoma State, the regular season champ in that league. They sit at RPI #7 and are 29-15 against RPI top 100 teams. Texas has one of the tougher schedules in the nation.

Keep an eye on Texas if they keep winning.

we definitely seem to be peaking at the right time and even if we just get a regional and no super i like our chances of going into lafayette and taking 2 of 3. It wont be easy, ULL is pretty dang good, but i think we can do it.

It would help more if Arkansas wins today and Miss State wins today.

Arkansas moved 6 spots up after beating Ole Miss two days ago. 6 more spots and Arkansas is RPI 27. Arkansas also has a win over MSU. If State wins, that also helps Arkansas in RPI.

Arkansas didn't play UK and neither did LSU.

LSU is 3-1 against Arkansas and 3-0 against State. So, there is 6-1 record against two teams in top 25 if all falls right.

you think Arkansas would hop 8 spots into the rpi top 25 by going 1-1 against ole miss and lsu (i say 1-1 just hypothetically from lsu's perspective. not claiming we'll win )

We moved 6 by beating Ole Miss.
If State wins, that helps us and LSU. Both probably move up.
I'm not saying Arkansas moves to top 25, but there's a chance. More so of a chance than UK or Ole miss winning.
LSU nor Arkansas played UK, so that helps no team.

Arkansas also has a win over Nebraska, who also is still playing and still winning. Arkansas has a win over UNLV, who is winning in their tourney and they now play San Diego State today. SDState is a top 50 RPI, so we will see some movement on a win by UNLV there as well.

Make sense?

it does and i think you could make a nice move today with a win but would drop 2-3 spots back after a loss to lsu. not saying its impossible but seems unlikely to me.

I agree with this. I feel like Vandy deserves to get a 5th SEC host spot. That'd hurt to have quality series wins over KY, @FL, and LSU, top 10 RPI and SOS, 40+ wins and still not host.

They also have a Top 25 RPI (pre-Florida and State wins) and beat Virginia and swept Louisville in the OOC. They should be a two seed, especially after their performance thus far in the SEC Tourney.

That was my assumption as well. I just figure at this point they're playing for location.

Hogs played all these teams as well except the Vols (who were in the Top 50 in the RPI) so what is your point? That the Hogs do not deserve where you keep placing them?

Keep saying they will not be a 2 seed and I will LMAO when they are ahead of the Hogs when the brackets come out.

UK had the #3 SoS in the country after Florida and Georgia (who the Hogs did not play) and the Hogs SoS was #34.

3 > 34
34 - 3 = 31, so UK is 31 spots higher on the SoS which is a massive advantage for UK.

Bloomington for all the intangibles the NCAA does not talk about

+ Gives B1G a B1G vs SEC bracket
+ Puts a SEC team on BTN (see UK in Gary when they should have hosted instead)
+ Forces UK vs IU rivalry to remain even tho football and basketball have been cancelled

If OM wins today and Miami loses to Duke I think we get a National Seed regardless of what happens on Saturday.. One things for sure, if LSU were to beat OM Saturday taking their head to head record to 3-1 (3 games in Ox, 1 at a neutral site ) and STILL not get a National Seed nod over the Rebels I will spend my Sunday night on the Tiger Rant and Game of Thrones will have to wait.
