I’d say it’s still UGA and Arkansas unless Ole miss can go on a run to pad their resume. Coming into the tourney all three teams are even on conference record but UGA is #3 RPI and #5 SOS and Arkansas is #4 RPI and #2 SOS while OM is #9 RPI and #42 SOS. Obviously the tournament can change that but the onus is on OM to win, not necessarily on Ark and UGA.

I've never understood why home plate umpires don't just wear football helmets

If only Ole Miss had finished higher than UGA or Arkansas with series wins against either...

So cool. ESPN just decided not to show the end of that inning. I just assume Ole Miss has seen under 20 pitches

Somewhat, but here's how I look at it.

Ole Miss and UGA are both 18-12 in the SEC. The also are both 16-11 against group 1 teams. I think what separates them somewhat is that Ole Miss beat UGA H2H.

I mean head to head is cool and all if you were playing Arkansas and UGA in the NCAA tournament but you’re not so... we did more against a harder schedule than OM to this point.

Ole Miss won the series of Ark & UGA head to head.

Was the over turn call good or bad at second? Listening to Rob Bramlett, the Auburn announcer. Guy is having an absolute meltdown.

Again, that’s fine but do we also want to factor in that UGA was on the road for our series? OM didn’t sweep Clemson or Tech like we did in their non conference either. They lost their series to South Carolina who we swept. They never played Florida. All of that is reflected both positively and negatively in the RPI and SOS and Conference record and right now those three metrics favor UGA and Arkansas over ole miss. That’s not say it can’t change this week but the pressure is on OM to deliver, not UGA and arkansas

It looked really close and I couldnt tell honestly. The reason I'd be upset as an auburn fan is because of the emphasis on clear proof to overturn calls

Pretty sure he was out, but no way there was enough to overturn. Really needed the CF angle

I was going to interject with this. If you put a gun to my head and asked me whether or not he was safe or out, I would say out, but it was really close and I am not exactlu sure what they saw to overturn the safe call.

sort of. Ole Miss won more games and the same number of SEC games.

UGA lost series to Florida, Ole Miss, Kentucky and Vandy
UGA won series against Arkansas, South Carolina, and A&M

Ole Miss lost series against State, Vandy and South Carolina.
Ole Miss won series against Auburn, Arkansas, UGA, LSU, and A&M.

They're pretty damn even, which is referenced by them having identical 16-11 records against group 1 schools. Where the deviation in RPi comes into play is games played against group 2 schools. UGA went 13-6 against group 2 schools and Ole Miss went 8-2.

In normal circumstances all 4 of UF, OM, Ark, and UGA would get national seeds. It has happened before but the committee tries to avoid it if possible.
