Catcher JJ Schwarz suffered an injury in the second game against Mississippi State and left the contest. He didn't play in the series finale on Saturday, either.
The Gainesville Sun's Pat Dooley reports that Schwarz suffered a small break in his right hand after taking a foul ball off his hand. Sources inform Swamp247 that Schwarz will miss at least the SEC Tournament and could miss a couple weeks with the injury.
It's a significant wrench in the lineup for the No. 1 Gators, who have ridden Schwarz' hot bat of late to a repeat as SEC champions.
The junior catcher was hitting .325, good for second on the team. He has 65 hits in 54 games, including 30 for extra bases, including 16 doubles, two triples and 12 home runs. His 46 RBI are also good for second on the team. His 262 career starts are the most in school history.

Yeah. Definitely don't think it was intentional in any way but that really sucks for us if he's out for an extended period of time.
