In all honesty, I would be shocked if Bama didn't win the National Championship this upcoming season. See everyone in Miami. Roll Damn Tide.

Not even close the year after getting back from an injury. Ask Ingram how that went.
50:1 at best IMO, and I like the kid.

If I was a sports better, I would throw down $20 on UT for a $4,000 prayer. I've given away a lot more than that for Tennessee football in the past.
edit: And it's not a terrible bet for the odds. Sure there's only a slim hope, but you've got better than slim hope odds.

I agree 100%. They are the favorites to win it all no doubt. I just can't fathom how someone can say "shocked" if LSU doesn't win". This is the SEC, we are full of great football teams.
LSU's 2011 margin of victory:
Mississippi State - 13
Kentucky - 28
Florida - 30
Tennessee - 31
Auburn - 35
Alabama - 3
Ole Miss - 49
Arkansas - 24
Georgia - 32
Alabama's 2011 margin of victory
Arkansas - 24
Florida - 28
Vanderbilt - 34
Ole Miss - 45
Tennessee - 31
Mississippi State - 17
Auburn - 24
LSU - 21
The SEC has two great teams. LSU and Alabama obviously are at a different level from the rest of the SEC programs at this moment.

Has this changed any since before the bike wreck?
I don't think so, although at one time, I think they were 12:1 - my guess is they're waiting to see who the new HC is before altering the line

AND you have a green QB who hasn't done shite.
Please anyone who knows anything about football knows that LSU is getting an upgrade at QB. If Mettenberger is just efficent, he will be a massive upgrade.

+1. We don't even really need a great quarterback to win a National Championship. Just one who is efficient and doesn't turn the ball over.

It's insane how similar the margins of victory among common opponents were with LSU and Bama. Their margins of victory against Mississippi State, Florida, Ole Miss, and Arkansas were within four points of each other. The biggest margin of victory difference between their common opponents was the Auburn game and quite frankly, Auburn didn't score a single offensive point against Bama and should have lost 42-0 and LSU gave up a TD to Auburn in garbage time so they really beat them 45-3. The two teams were virtually identical by every measure which makes it all the more puzzling how LSU got so thoroughly dominated in the BCS National Championship game.

Nothing puzzling about it.
LSU ran the ball with Jefferson 14 times. LSU's best RB - Hilliard - ran it 5 times.
You aren't going to win many games if your QB has 3 times as many rushing attempts as your best RB, much less in a NC game against Bama

I can't believe it, but this is the first time (ever) that I am not even worried about playing @ Florida and @ Auburn.

When the 01 UF team went to Auburn that year and lost, they had a team that should've destroyed Auburn by FORTY.
You my friend are just stupid if you think LSU with a new QB is going to go into UF and Auburn this year and whip them like they did last season.

JJ and the option. You could have the worst defensive coaching ever, but given a month to prepare you will completely shut down the option. I was one that thought we would do something different for that very reason. I was wrong. We stuck with the fricking option and got manhandled.

I thought Lee did a fantastic job until the Alabama meltdown. Admittedly, I only watched a few games but he seemed like a very solid QB.
