He was hurt half of the season and Cook couldn't throw downfield with accuracy. Mizzou has improved in just about all positions and with better depth and backups. Don't forget Drinkwitz had to deal with his new DC. Defense should be a little bit better and should not be a problem this year.

South Carolina isn't beating Mizzou this coming season.

You said that last year.
How come you know about that and I don't remember saying it.

Now I see that. It was a close game. Like you said Drinkwitz lost his DC and DL coach last season did make an impact in some of the losses last year. One is South Carolina. This year should not be a problem beating South Carolina at home. Plus no one saw Sellers being the quarterback he showed last year. South Carolina was a surprised team last year. Same for Vandy.

I think USCe will be the biggest surprise in the conference, and it really shouldn't be a surprise the way they finished last season. We'll have our hands full, and the game is in CoMo. Sellers could possibly be the best QB in the conference, Dylan Stewart will remind Cock fans of Clowney, and Nyck Harbor is just a freak of nature.
Mizzou is getting very little respect, but yes, we do have a relatively easy schedule. I'm not a homer, but we will have one of the top 2-3 defenses in the conference. Everyone points to Burden being gone (Kevin Coleman should be just as if not more productive) and that QB is a question mark (whoever comes out on top between Pribula and Horn will probably be an upgrade from Brady Cook). Minor question mark at punter, but the BIG question for Mizzou--and frankly what will determine whether we make the playoffs or not--is the O-line. And the biggest question mark there is left tackle OF ALL THINGS

Haha....touche. Yes, I'm a big Mizzou fan, but I feel those opinions are pretty objective. A true homer would not come on an SEC board before the season started to say that we'll be damn lucky to beat USCe in CoMo and to point out that our O-line could possibly be a sieve, IMO. But good luck to the Bayou Bengals this fall.

I think Texas' odds are lowered by playing Ohio State in the opener. Lose that and can't have more than one other loss, probably.

Saying the replacements will outperform Cook/Burden is a take.
I guess Mizzou could technically be a top 2 or 3 defense because of the weak schedule, technically they were like #5 in the conference last year but I think that was pretty inflated.
LSU had a pretty meh defense and you guys gave up like 4 more PPG than LSU vs the 6 common opponents.

Cook was never offer a power of 4/5 scholarship and Horn is a former 4* from Georgia HS. both quarterbacks that are competing for the job is a little bit better than Cook. Both Cook and Burden got hurt and wasn't the same and played hurt in some games and was out in some games. Why expert hasn't ranked Mizzou higher because of unknown with quarterback right now. No one outside of Missouri know what is going on with the quarterback situation. Don't forget Drinkwitz had to replace the DC and DL coach that went to LSU.

That kid was an instant difference maker for them, you don’t just go out and plug another player in who can replace that. We’ve seen it all across the country. If he’s on the field he draws extra attention which opens things up for other players and helps open up the offense, losing a player like that will be a setback for sure.
Plus losing a qb, maybe not great but a leader, is a huge setback, see Georgia when Bennett left, and bowers as far as offensive playmakers.
There will be alot of changes on teams around the league so it could be a very interesting year.

Drinkwitz did mention that this is the best talented team he has had since being the Missouri football HC. Cook was never offer a power of 4/5 scholarship and Horn is a former 4* from Georgia HS. both quarterbacks that are competing for the job is a little bit better than Cook. Missouri 3rd highest....lol...no..just no.

MU #2 receiver Weiss outperformed Burden last year by a couple hundred yards; doesn't seem like much of a stretch to say the returning SEC receiving leader (several hundred more receiving yards than Burden last year) will be an improvement.

Gotta love the SEC long timer fans!
When Mizzou won the East the first time....
When Mizzou won the East the second time....
When Mizzou makes the playoffs this year......
The long timers will spout about "soft schedules" ....."team injuries"...."bad officiating"....blah fcking blah...
Stop whining like a bunch of school girls and embrace Mizzou's success. Jealousy is unbecoming. MIZ mther fckers....
