Makes sense to me. Not sure why you would stay where you are being attacked instead of going home.
broken forehead and eye socket, wife and child apparently checked into hospital as well. doesn't seem like you were given a choice of what hospital you wanted to go to.

I find it really hard to believe that this is fake when there are facebooks being posted that seem to match the story.
Same name, from the same area.
If you were going to create a viral story, wouldnt facebook seem like a logical place to start?

Am I trying to ruin someones reputation? Because if this story is false, this Marcus guy is fricked. This is a real person, regardless of the validity of the story.
Posted on 9/25/11 at 11:01 pm to Myshkin
the guy is from Natchez, MS. He and his wife and child live in Pittsburg. They got the hell out of Morgantown as soon as they could. That is him in the mugshot from Destin.
Done trying to tell your dumbshit a-hole fans that one of your own got the shite kicked out him and his pregnant wife was assaulted. If you want to wish him well, that would be nice. Otherwise, you should probably stop trying to be the message board truth police because you're gonna look like an idiot.

Here's the deal.
1. I obviously jumped the gun in posting this story. The guy is originally from Mississippi and it popped up on Facebook today. If its completely false, its being spread by his family members. If this is true, then it will come out. That's why it was brought to Tigerdroppings.
2. The linkage of Facebook has obviously added a little credibility to it, however I'm not going to post screenshots of personal messages to a friend. If someone else does it (and there are LSU fans with several hundred posts here that have confirmed the FB pages are showing evidence that this could be real) then so be it.
3. I have no idea why he went to the hospital in Pittsburgh. Cannot even start to imagine.
4. There is a post from someone else earlier today on Six Pack that is a general "Pray for the Masons - horrible thing last night at WV" I have no idea who that poster is. Six Pack is also asking for evidence.
5. The Marcus Mason story from St. Louis is freaking weird.
6. If this turns out to be completely false, I'm going to be pissed.

Political Hack, you claim you just wanted us LSU fans to know one of our own got attacked............now what is the motivation behind spamming this story across a dozen other message boards associated with various other Universities?

See, I don't really think it is. Marcus Mason doesn't really sound like an exotic name, first of all.
Second, if you get in a fight, usually the injuries that occur from an arse beating are pretty similar. So pointing to that as evidence that the story is fake seems pretty stupid.
Woah, these two dudes have the same name, and both got in fights? NOT POSSIBLE.

I would assume because they are pissed and don't want people to overlook this terrible incident.
Did ESPN have some agenda for the Giants/Dodgers fight?

I just found put about this story through this thread. Called a buddy that went to hs with him and he says the story is true. Looked at his fb and saw family and friends posting on his wall. So I assume the story is true. Again he lives in Pittsburgh so that is the reason he went to the hospital there. I didn't get in this thread until page 5 or 6. Not a troll. Just saw a story about someone I know and giving you the facts I know.

You should totally email me a screenshot of his wall @ myshkin99@gmail.com

great point, 24 hours after this incident happened the only mention is on a few random message boards. figure a media outlet would have picked it up even if it is just a blurb.

I haven't read all of the pages here. It just caught my attention because I grew up in Natchez. When I saw the reference to FB, I looked him up. We have several friends in common. I looked through some of his pictures and saw some of him in a Baker Hughes coveralls and hard hat. I too work for Baker Hughes. I just looked him up in our system. He works in our Pittsburgh office. I guess I can easily validate this story by calling his office tomorrow.

No way a guy is taken to a hospital 75 miles away from the so called incident when there is a hospital right at the stadium. Also, did they drive there without the windshield?? No reports from morgantown, mon county, or state police departments.
