They get to play each other and the media vastly overrates them. Then they play a Big 10 team and get smashed.

Vanderbilt, a 10-2 SEC team that many wanted in the CFP, was dominated by 8 - 4 Big Ten Iowa.
Ohio State at least made the game interesting and competitive. This game isn't either so far.

Until ND joins a real conference and has to play more than one tough game per year NOBODY gives a wet fart about what you think of the SEC.
