Like, I’d get it would be a relevant fact if they were actually on the roster and played a down.

I don’t know what the point of a lawsuit is at this stage

To intimidate LSU into not putting them on the roster by the deadline tomorrow. Which if the Louisiana judge grants an injunction that would force LSU to either violate SEC rules or disobey a court order. Seems downright shaddy and illegal to me.

Judge is taking a recess until 6.

Will allow attorneys to say what they want to say when he comes back and I'm assuming his ruling will come after that.

You had no chance of hiring Kiffin.

Read the TRO. If LSU does not roster them that puts LSU in violation of the TRO/injunction. In which case the only way to follow the court order is to roster them.

ETA: However that does not mean that LSU has to play to them if that is what you were talking about.

Yeah with the state of things seems likely they will be rostered but not play until a final agreement of some sort is reached.

These guys have barely practiced with the team anyway.

Yes. Greg Sankey got his arse stomped for about 3 hours.

It may be weeks to months before the cases are all settled.

Without a bonafide flowchart demonstrating all the connections, I consider this whole affair a fart in the wind. A nothing burger.

Now IF it was Auburn or Alabama, this site would get organized quickly.

It's ridiculous that it's come to this all because the NCAA/SEC refuse to admit that they fricked this up. They were too busy suspending kids over a plane ticket to actually know the 5 for 5 rules. One player made $190 in camp. This is the line in the sand that they're drawing. Hopefully people can finally start to realize that the only reason they are going in so hard is because it's a distraction from their own incompetence.

The SEC suit is clearly an attempt to squelch their likely loss in the LA state court by kicking it to another venue, federal court.

If the BR court rules that the SEC threat to LSU is a violation of the athlete's rights pursuant to their claim against the NCAA, this new suit would still give LSU caution about rostering them tomorrow. LSU would be in between a rock and a hard place as described by the amicus brief submitted by the LA AG yesterday.

The claims of this new suit are questionable, as LSU has not played any football players under the new SEC regulation, so there is no injury yet.

But it is clearly intended to chill LSU's options.

I'm not talking about LSU. I've said repeatedly that I don't care if any of these guys go to LSU. The NCAA is wrong. The SEC is wrong and now we know that Sankey doesn't even know the 5 for 5 rule or he lied under oath to cover up what he knew.

What was he doing here then?

You have Harris confused with Wright. You really have your finger on the pulse of what’s going on.

LSU, if in recruiting them, offered revenue sharing from TV revenue and NIL deals, and then renege on it after the court says LSU is clear from retaliation, then can't the players sue over it?

They don't have the academics to get into the Big X. That would fit in the SWAC better anyway
