Just like State fans and Ole Miss fans "know" their HC hires will turn them around. You all have the same thing in common right now......nothing more than hope.

Just to be clear, is this part of the flaming/trolling or do you really believe this

It is a bit early to declare MussBus the savior after just one decent road w in Assembly Hall. Arks schedule has been a cupcake walk

Also, while Ark is definitely a great BB recruiting ground given pop size, I'm not sold on Muss' ability to consistently draw OOS talent necessary to complete regularly

I expect Muss to be a guy who get consistent NCAAT bid and some S16 appearances but anymore more will be 'special'

We make no suggestion that we’re not historically a trash basketball school. We’re just not calling ourselves blue bloods when no school in the conference has a longer Sweet 16 drought.

This is why the rest of the league laughs when Arkansas tries to pump themselves as some elite program despite not being relevant in 25 years.

That's not even meant to be a flame. That's just the truth. They've been middle of the pack at best since 2000.

And even if just this is all true (which you downplay quite a bit), you already prove my point. Musselman's recognition by Arkasnas fans and National media isn't build on hope.

He doesn't need out of state talent. He has the 5th ranked recruiting class right now with just Arkansas kids.

Arkansas produces great basketball players.

I do believe that. Muss is a good coach, but he hasn't done a damn thing at Arky yet. Everybody thinks their new HC, in any sport, is the one who will get them to the top of the mountain. The vast majority are wrong.

Right and there is more there than just "hope". If you were just using some hyperbole because others in the thread have already gone there than I get that.

explain? What exactly has he done to date? You only have two losses. One was to Western Kentucky.

this Western Kentucky

He has overachieved based on the metrics people use to this date. My point isn't that he is some elite coach because we are 13-2. My point is that he has proved something so far that is beyond "hope". That was before the season started when we had no evidence to work with during his Arkansas tenure.

Ok? Western Kentucky also lost their best player. I'm not going to defend that loss. We can point to many good teams that have lost games they shouldn't have, this is college basketball.

He's recruiting at an elite level, he prepares the team at an elite level, when you hear him speak.... you know he knows his shite.

It's a combo of things. We've seen elite coaching, shite coaching and everything in between. I think we're pretty knowledgeable about what we have here.

At the same token, Pearl is good and might get you there but you can't say for sure with him either.

There's no absolute until you're hoisting that trophy.
