Tennessee, TAMU, BAMA, SC, and Shorthorns were the top 5 rushing teams in the SEC.
The OOC games against opponents that are just overwhelmed at the kickoff only skew the numbers. Against the big boys, in crunch time, is a SEC team's real offensive identity.
Looking at rushing attempts per game vs DI competition only:
4. Tennessee
11. South Carolina
15. A&M
24. Missouri
30. Oklahoma
33. Ole Miss
37. Arkansas
52. Alabama
64. Texas
67. Kentucky
68. Vanderbilt
72. Florida
81. Auburn
83. Mississippi State
110. Georgia
120. LSU

Unless Russell is at QB, we will be running with our RB’s way more than we did last year with Milroe. Book it. I see us being very balanced and very good. It reminds me of who we were back in the AJ Mcarron days. Game manager WB, 9 of 11 back on defense, 4 o-lineman back this year, and just a solid team.
That is not what Grubb and DeBoer do at all.

What they do, and what they are dealt with in year two is a different thing.

Alabama will be a much better passing team with really good WR's and a QB that can get them the ball. This will force people to play us honest and give the RB's more running room behind a very good OL,some folks say the best in the conference.

Grubb was literally fired last year for not running enough, but yeah, they're both going to suddenly change their entire philosophy.
Rushing Attempts Per Game:
2020 - #90
2021 - #103
2022 - #118
2023 - #130
2024 - #52
Last year was the most balance a DeBoer offense has ever had at the DI level, and that was basically because of Milroe.
Let's say you take away his carries and give 7 or 8 back to the backs, they still finish around #100.

Maybe, I would say this is the best case scenario from an Alabama standpoint.

I went to 5 ULM games last year and Ahmad Hardy is an excellent running back and a very nice pickup for Mizzou but #2 in the SEC? That seems a stretch.
Looks like they quarterback will hand off to the running back more due to the quarterback will be starting for the first time ever.

I'm surprised Wisner is not higher. He looked really good against Georgia. Really good back.

Considering the Tennessee will rotate 3 guys (maybe 4, Morris is really turning heads as a freshman) if Bishop is above Ott then Oklahoma had a disastrous season.
