quote:You are putting too much stock into how much we are returning instead of WHO we are returning. The players coming back were the players on the side of the ball that was one of the worst in the conference. Returning a horrid offense isn't much to hang your hat on. We won because of our record-setting pitching last year, in spite of our offense. I'm not saying they haven't improved, but we lost a hell of a lot more than we return. The point that both CNB and I are trying to make is that there is absolutely no way to tell who is ahead of who at this point. College baseball fluctuates so much from year to year, you can't base opinions from the year before to justify predictions for the next season, especially using just raw return numbers instead of looking at who is actually coming back.
shouldn't the more talented team that returns more talented players beat the teams that it beat last season?

our pitching will be fine. our pitching didn't lose games last year, bats did.

Has it been announced what exactly we are going to do with Hudson's baseball donation?
Clubhouse upgrade. That was a long time ago, like last May.
Unless he made another donation?

Yeah I knew that. Hadn't heard anything further/specific though. I thought they would have started the upgrades prior to this season
Posted on 12/17/13 at 3:26 am to The Nino
I never heard specifics either

JJ probably just put it towards Gus's gum, visor and coffee budget

You're talking shot about a game two years ago?
How stupid are you?
Your original argument was putting Stanek out in Hoover, which never happened last season....so then you ignore the facts and just go to posting shite anyway.
Real genius you are.....

Rly? You need to be reminded of your disappearing act after a mad amount of shite talking? Let's take a little walk down memory lane -- shall we?
Yes really, you dumb arse redneck.
Arkansas played Ole Miss and LSU twice in Hoover last year.
Not Mississippi State

We've fielded one team since the rebuild was complete. I seem to remember you talking mad shite about it too -- before it went further than your team has ever been.
Mississippi State is 4-14 their last 18 games against Arkansas. Basically, you're our bitch.
And no, Arkansas has long done what State finally did this past year.

Certainly hasn't won a series against Arkansas in....a while
Ohh how I forgot that "SERIES WINS" is all that matters. The hell with SEC tourney wins, winning the Regional, Super Regional, and wins in Omaha.

I guarantee you we will not finish worse than 12th in the SEC this year.

It blows my mind how Georgia isn't better in baseball and how poor of a fan following yall have. I know the braves are close by, but yall's university is big enough as well as the city of Athens to have 4K fans at your games.

Will you be making the trip to the Dude this year to see the series?

From 01ish-08 we were fantastic, and likely the 2nd or 3rd best program in the league behind LSU.
The problem is perno is a dick and his act just got stale and people quit wanting to play for him. Throw in a few bad seasons in a row and some tough luck with injuries and the wheels fell off.
Our new coach seems to be legit though and we just signed a pretty good recruiting class that, completely unlike perno's classes, should see most everyone report to campus instead of the big leagues. I'm not saying we'll be great this year, but we damn sure won't be the 2nd worst team in the league.

It's the same thing as basketball, people want to support a winner. Back in that timeframe that I mentioned we packed the place to the gills. One of my favorite college memories ever is the regionals and supers from 2008, just an absolutely bonkers atmosphere. But the last few years when we've sucked, obviously not as many people will want to show up.

Look....State fans are the only fan base that gets excited about winning games in the SEC tourney. No baseball fan base on this site boasts about winning in the SEC tourney quite like State.
Winning Regionals, Super Regionals, and winning in Omaha, well, that really isn't anything new to South Carolina, LSU, Arkansas, and Florida programs over the past 5 years or so.
South Carolina and LSU have national titles. South Carolina and Arkansas have the two longest NCAA streaks in the league.
Congrats on one good season Bundy.
I guess that's what you are seeking out here? I'm not really sure.....

It's going to be a lot like last year.
LSU and Vandy are both still stacked while South Carolina and Mississippi State will be a tier below talent-wise but will have a shot at getting hot at the right time to make a postseason run.
lulz
South Carolina is not a "tier below talent-wise" in baseball to anyone.
SCAR has racked-up more #1 recruiting classes than anyone in the country in the past five years. We cut players that would play for most other Top Ten programs.
The "last year" you refer to was an abomination. A season filled with injuries and lacking chemistry early because of the influx of new talent and a new head coach. Yeah, we were pissed but we were still one out away, in a super regional on the road, from going back to Omaha.
Again, your post made me lulz.

No respect for Bundy's dawgs and I'm getting tired of it!!

i know yall lost yalls #1 player to the draft and did not have as high a recruiting class as hoped. Look, I see State Hosting a super regional but I do not see them advancing past that. And before you give me any bull shite i am a huge college baseball fan that keeps up with all the top teams so yea, i have seen state play
then you should know that we will have a stronger team this season, genius.

No you weren't. SCAR was the winningest program in the entire country during that period of time as well as the winningest program in the league ... meaning we won more league games than anyone else in the league during the 2000s. Look it up.
LSU is the only program that is on SCAR's level since 2000, period. Two programs that have been amazingly consistent - year after year - and even then LSU had a down year if I remember correctly.
